Persuasive marketing? If this video was released when he was just coming up it may have made a difference. I doubt even 5% of his target demographic will give even the slightest of shits about this. I know nothing of Bieber's music, but I know that he started with girly pop songs and is now constantly in the news for being in trouble and I saw him walk in with Mayweather so I can only assume his music has changed with his more recent marketed attitude. No persuasive marketing needed.

Oh, okay. Because an artist quit making poppy young girl music and is incorporating elements of rap and R&B and is walking around with black guys nobody will care that he was slinging racial slurs.

That's not even the point.

The point is that he's a huge revenue producing property. If the people want to eat him alive, he's got a lot more work to do than the other thread that popped up (because it's relevant) of Jonah Hill apologizing for saying "faggot". This goes right back to Paula Deen and anyone else saying dumb shit. You release your media team and try your damnedest to at most win back the ability to be seen in a non-negative light, and at worst, salvage the brand.

It's marketing, it's propaganda, and it's relevant.

If you've never had to do damage control once in your life, you aren't pushing hard enough. That's how it's relevant. Forget that it's Beiber and racism. Forget that you want to look cool on this forum for a second.

Now you get to enjoy watching a high-value marketing campaign get pushed out and you get to see whether it converts or not.
 
It's a little known fact that this word actually means "Justin Bieber" when used in Canada.
 
Meh, Bieber's team must have known about this for years and mitigated against it by paying Floyd "Money" Mayweather a fine sum to be his pal in public thus mitigating the effects of the video when it finally surfaced.

Ummm, I think you may have missed it, because it's already come and gone. 95% of it happened behind the scenes.

The media quite obviously gave him a pass already, plus his team trotted out guys like Will Smith to say it's no big deal. Done! Issue swept under the rug, and within 24 - 72 hours there will be some new, juicy celebrity gossip to worry about.

tl;dr -- Bieber is part of the "big boy club" now, or in other words, is un-fucking-touchable. Fucking with Bieber = fucking with very rich people who you don't want having a beef with you, hence media and everyone else gives him a pass. Simple economics. PIssing Biebers handlers off = more of a loss than media coverage of blowing it up would have brought in.
