Libertarian Island

It's a good thing there's already a bridge and a road, because without a government, there's no chance for those kinds of projects.

Not sure about that. I read last week a Russian spy stole the blueprints for making roads and bridges from the U.S. Government. It's only a matter of time until Russia leaks those blueprints and the whole world learns how to make roads and bridges.

Just bought in. Should get lease on Wednesday. Got a Branson coupon for a space flight. Seems legit. They said no pickup trucks. Fuck.

most of this thread sounds like stuff the 'lord of the flies' kids would have come up with.

"just smoke piggie with a boulder, it'll all be alright."

Ever since I realized it was possible (I remember someone mentioning "Affiliate Island" several years ago on WF) I've wanted to own a private island. It's one of the very few material goals I have for myself. Would love nothing better than to be away from everyone and everything for weeks at a time, completely in my own world.

Sandy Cay - Bahamas, Caribbean - Private Islands for Sale

I think it would be a VERY realistic goal to go in with a few people and buy a nice island. The thing is, from a business standpoint I think you'd need lots of land, because there's HUGE demand for a hong kong of the atlantic.

982 acres though? Kinda small no?

Exsqueeze me? Wouldn't you need the home country of that island to sell you its' sovereignty somehow before you could remove the tax liabilities and regulations? (Therefore making it worthwhile?)

The last time I know of one country selling land with soveriegn rights was the purchase of Alaska from Russia... But examples like that and the Louisiana purchase are always between soveriegnties, never from soveriegn to citizen.

Blackwater could help with sovereignty.
