Noob here, I'm trying to promote some ClickBank products but realized that AdWords banned direct linking to the direct vendor buy page back in 2008. So off I go creating my own pre-sell sales page and create relevant AdWords keywords, which would also likely be Google slapped since it links to the vendor. So is it even possible to promote this using PPC, or do I need to go the organic route to get traffic to the sales page?

How can you assume something if you don't have solid proof? even more, if you haven't tried by yourself?. Search, read, analyze and profit.

There're lot of threads about that subject here.

Good point and a reminder to test to get real data instead of assumptions. Wanted to ask anyway since I've been slapped by Google a few times for adwords (obvious mistakes) so want to avoid an eventual ban if I can avoid it. From checking some of the threads, it looks like the problem is direct linking specifically to thin landing pages promoting offers to shady items and rebills. I'll need to find out what makes a page spammy and what is acceptable.

Usually Adwords doesn't like direct linking, but there are some workarounds you can do while keeping your QS high. They're a bit blackhat though.

Let me save you some time. Sign up for aweber and capture emails. And pick a niche where you can hit them with enough relevant offers that its worth capturing them.
