If someone says they believe that Obama might be an economic genius, you would be demanding absolute mathematical proof. You wouldn't want to hear about how it was just their opinion or about how they perceive reality differently than you.

Scientists are not demanding absolute proof for creationism, they are merely asking for more evidence pointing in that direction. If it is there, they will look at it, but when the main evidence is "the Bible says so", there's not much they can do with that.

If that was to apply, I would have to claim that reality is subjective. I didn't say that. I said our perception of reality is subjective.

Comments about perceptions of reality would be a red herring in this case as whatever happened during earth's history would be objective fact.

Scientific theories are based on objective facts. The existence of dinosaur bones is an objective fact. The bones can be perceived differently by each human eye, but we have objective ways to measure them and such.

I see where you're coming from but this approach worked for me. My long-term held Christian beliefs were systematically challenged by authors such as Bert Erhman, Dan Barker and YouTube channels such as Evid3nc3. The Bible in particular can be easily deconstructed from being the 'backstory' about Jesus to a collection of bronze age creation / god myths. Eventually I had to choose to either ignore reason or be honest and accept.

Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. However, religious people are fervently trying to push their agendas into society, politics, culture etc, both Christian and Islamic. This must be resisted, imo. As far as I understand the USA is a secular republic, but you wouldn't believe it when you look at the religious beliefs of the GOP candidates. Atheist (and I not one of them) are doing a good job putting the burden of proof back in the lap of the theists.

Actually it's interesting when working with the Bible from a sceptical point of view. It's pretty clear that most Christians have not read most of the Bible, as witnessed by their disbelief when you tell them that Yahweh ordered infanticide, genocide, slavery, ethnic cleansing and the stoning of homosexuals and condoned human sacrifice (for example). People like this are, imo, no different from muslims and indeed they worship the same god.

This is yet another example of so obvious reverse propaganda. In this post, he's rejecting christian beliefs while advocating Islamic beliefs. While I don't advocate any religion here (I have nothing against either), this reverse shit is ridiculous. Do you assume readers on here are dumb? Say what you want openly, why being so shady? This shows your shadyness, sneakiness, intolerance and hate. I don't usually call out people engaging in this. I see this being done by a lot of other members.

I'm also pretty sure most Christians (particularly Americans) have engaged in sexual intercourse with more than one partner.

I'm kind of interested in how the whole polygamy vs monogamy thing really does tie into our evolution. Is it our evolutionary or cultural background that leads humans towards monogamy? On one hand, you have jealousy, it seems like a pretty universal trait that when another man looks toward your woman, especially if she shows mutual interest, this triggers an emotion of jealousy. Then again, if money and power were infinite, would a man still have any urge to be monogamous? Interesting to think about.

I wasted my time at university studying bio-chemistry. One thing that fucked everyone mind was trying to discover the evolution of cells. We knew that if we could discover/prove the evolution of just one complex cell to another we could get a Nobel Prize bitches!!! But that’s just it, that’s evolutions biggest flaw (besides sheer lack of fossil evidence, but i don't know much about that)
