Things are spiraling out of control in London at an alarming rate. Police have no control over various situations across the city, including looting and buildings being set on fire.

Fucking 14 year olds looting anything from clothes stores to tvs in betting shops. Some of them on TV shouting "we're getting our taxes back".

BBC News - London riots: Violence erupts for third day

What the fuck are the Police doing? Apparently there are supposedly 1400 officers on the ground and yet we are seeing images of whole High streets being looted and buildings set on fire. Its fucking insane.

The people who are involved in this are opportunist thugs and looters and its about time that stronger tactics are deployed by the Police. Its the 3rd night in a row!

This has nothing to do with anarchy. Anarchy is a state without rulers.

This isn't happening because there aren't rulers, this is happening because THERE ARE RULERS.

thugs have won, buildings my home town are up in flames and my friends' shops are fucked up.
Police should have cracked heads in the first couple of riots, loads of boroughs are kicking off independently right now.

Very weak governance - the PM, deputy PM are on their holidays. COBRA meeting has been called for tomorrow morning. That will be handy, when its all finished.
Mayor Boris's chief and deputy chief of police had to resign over the news international phone hacking scandal so Boris is in charge of the police with no established line of delegation. Boris is on holiday.

Very wise words just spoken on BBC News from Tottenham:

The police are taking backhanders
The MPs are fiddling expenses
The media break the law without compunction
The bankers have looted our economy
Our politicians are sunning themselves in luxury
How do you expect young people to behave?

These boys aint thought this through properly. Stealing rice and having to carry that round all night. bravo.

The violence on the streets is disgusting and unforgiveable and those involved in it deserve the harshest punishment.

Our useless and dishonest leaders bear a heavy responsibility for this. They have created the environment in which people feel so disconnected that they do not care for their own communities.

The police officers and firefighters in the front line are heroes.

We need real leadership - honesty, truth, fairness and humility. Those presently in office are disgraced by the evidence in front of us.

This has nothing to do with political protest. At this point it's little more than organized thieving and vandalism.

I disagree. While the initial spark was caused by a innocuous and apolitical incident, this could have only happened in the climate of apathy and insecurity that UK politicians have only themselves to blame for.

Thieving and vandalism seem like rational responses when all evidence points to your future being stolen from you before you were even born.

Rumours looting is spreading to surrounding counties as well now - bit worrying considering most of our police have been sent to london!

This has nothing to do with anything political, just bored kids out of control. That's what happens when people start to think they're untouchable!

Also the news are reporting looters are moving into residential properties. Scary for people living in the area.
