Experiencing some low conversions on the "google make money" kits. Currently using msn, 7search, and adwords. anyone have any suggestions for other content networks that they've had success with?

The conversion rate I've had this week has been about 35% over what I've had in the past.....If I could just have the traffic rates I did 3-4 weeks ago with the conversion rates i'm getting now, i'd be doing VERY nicely.

35% conversion rates? wow, i've had 165 clicks today with a 14% ctr to the affiliate offer from my landing page and zero sales. I decided to use that generic landing page that everyone's been using (Hi, my name is Kevin. this is my story....)...you guys using that landing page? i need to either figure out a better traffic source or change my landing page?

Shockergd said he is getting conversions 35% above what he got before,not a 35% conversion rate...your 25 clicks through to the offer isn't really enough to judge imo, it could just be down to the time of day or the day of the week.

Depending on your traffic source though, your 14% ctr should probably be telling you something about the lp you ripped that 'everyone is using', no?

ahhh, give me a break :) i've been doin aff marketing for like 2 weeks now, so some of my questions gonna be noobish (but been doing freelance seo for 4 years - decided to try something diff). one of the guys I work with is having good conversions with that type lp. I guess I just need to keep running the offer for another day or 2, then see. thought 25 clicks would be enough to hit a conversion tho, looks like i need to increase my ad spend. traffic sources are msn, 7search, and adwords

25 clicks is nowhere enough in establishing the profitability of any campaign.

btw, since everyone's been so kind to help me out, i figure i'll go ahead and ask this question...

tracking 202 requires this string of text (?t202kw={QueryString}&t202c={AdId}&t202t={MatchType}&t202k={OrderItemId}) to be added to the lp url so that it can integrate with your ppc. but i feel like this just doesn't look good when a user comes to your www.abc.com/?t202kw={QueryString}&t202c={AdId}&t202t={MatchType}&t202k={OrderItemId} landing page?

should I even bother to add it? anyway to display a shorter url?

What I do..

Code:
<?php
$ref = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];
if ($ref != "" && ($_GET['t202kw'] != "" || $_GET['t202id'] != ""))
{
?>
<html>
<head></head>
<body>
TRACKING SCRIPT
META REFRESH
</body>
</html>
<?php
   } else {
?>
PAGE CONTENT HERE
<?php } ?>

Chances are the visitor may well have already read how much cash Kevin banked with google a few times though, all on very similar pages (how many ads for similar sites around yours in the search results?).

Make a couple different versions of your lp and split test - at least try and change it up a bit so the visitor has a reason to click through from your page over someone elses.

That's the wrong line of thinking.

Increasing your ad spend will just cause you to lose more money.

Running the same landing page as the other 10 ads on the first page of search is a losing strategy. Copying, no matter how much it is promoted and played up, is a losing strategy. All those lame ass sales pitches for spy/copy/paste don't take into account a lot of variables that will be unique to you and you only.

A lot of the time you're just going to be spying and copying people that are making extremely slim margins or breaking even.

You should focus on your landing page CTR. You cannot be successful with it at 14%. That's absolutely terrible. 50% and above needs to be achieved before you up your spend.

Just my 2 cents.

Dickarmy - wow... Everything you just said is wrong.
Um, dickarmy is 100% correct.

If you have a 14% conversino rate on a google bizopp, you need to get that shit well over 50% to start making major cash.

Copying other people's pages isn't going to make you money in the long run.

lol, tell that to the guys making money in the long run with them...

i shouldn't even post... it's the blind leading the blind through below-average earning in affiliate marketing. sigh...

Looking at other people's landing pages is probably one of the best ways to decide how you should design your own. If everybody is using a certain type of landing page it probably means that's the landing page that is converting the best.

EPC is the only figure that matters. Test different landing pages, different ad copies, different keywords, and find out what combination of the three result in the highest EPC. Test, test, test!
