Man Trapped in His Own Body for 23 years.

Of course, there is nothing more humane than causing the death of a person with perfectly functioning liver, kidneys, lungs, and heart by starvation and dehydration against the wishes of her parents. Allow me to humbly concede the moral high ground.

Where did I confer my support for death by starvation? Stop putting words in peoples mouths to support your own dumb ass arguments. She was a living corpse, a brain dead piece of flesh and bone. Letting her live is NOT the moral high ground AND it went against HER wishes.

You can read Schiavo's mind?

I almost refuse to believe you'd be ignorant enough to say this. Then, I remember all the pointless and uninformed arguments you made in other threads and I just accept it.

I think there was a movie called Serpent and the Rainbow that death with this sorta thing.
Also, remember that not too long ago (100+ yrs ago) there were supposedly many burials of people they thought were dead. But they were not. The reason they know this is because upon excavation they'd often see scratch marks on the inside of their coffin. Or is that an Urban legend? Hmmm..

---Note:Educational response---
This isn't really an urban legend. I took a cultural anthropology course in college and had to do a report on zombies in Haiti. Turns out, witch doctors were using a plant (I believe) on people to induce a death-like state. They would be buried in shallow graves and 'come alive' once the drug/plant wore off. If I remember correctly, it usually had some long-term mental illness effects. Check out the book The Serpent and the Rainbow if you're really interested.

Death would be a million times better than having to "live" in such a state.

It simply isn't natural to still be alive like that. Just because we have the machines to attach to you to keep you breathing like a cyborg doesn't mean it's necessarily the right thing to do.

Our own fear of death can be so ridiculous sometimes.

When a horse breaks its leg you have to put a bullet in its head. It's tragic but it's the right thing to do.

We're not so different.
