It's so nice to see WF getting along!
I totally agree with Turbo and Emp - there is huge resistance when you don't "fit" into a traditional box. I'm called a bitch more often than I can say because I have the kinds of ability and self-confidence that are admired in men but intimidating for some reason in a woman. I get this from other women and from men, but after thirty-plus years it doesn't bother me anymore. I'd rather bank on experience, confidence and ability over make-up and simpering smiles any day.
There's a lot to life that is a game and if you know how to play it, you can be true to yourself and still win. Part of being a winner is recognizing that there are times you'll lose and then twisting that inevitability to your advantage.
Another decent gender book that deals heavily with children and brain/gender differences (for those who have kids or teach them) is Why Gender Matters. It's very enlightening when it comes to the fundamental differences between males and females going back as early as birth and a bit beforehand.
