Just this weekend I finished development and testing on a new plugin for wordpress that will help you manage massive amounts of spam comments on autoblogs and neglected blogs. I developed this plugin because I was stick of having to clear out thousands of spam comments from my wordpress installs every few weeks.
Sites would get anywhere from 1k to 15k comments pending when I finally logged into them again. I would have just mass deleted them but many of these sites are user review sites so any review comments would be lost.
So that brings me to Comment Killer a new plugin that I have developed. In a matter of seconds it can weed out most if not all of your pending spam comments while leaving real user comments left alone to approve. While also keeping new spam out of your pending section.
It dose this by flagging comments as spam based on a max number of hyperlinks you are willing to allow. So at '2' any comment with more than 2 links in it will be filtered out of your pending que and auto deleted if people make new comments with more than 2 links. (You get to set this number in the options for the plugin.) With this new plugin I have been able to clear out 50 of my autoblog/review blogs in about 10mins. Where it would have taken me hours before manually.
