Massive blackout hits California, Arizona and Mexico



I just don't get it. In Wisconsin we live in a pretty temperate climate and we don't have black outs. But assholes in California claim it's the greatest thing (despising their city's and power that suck) ever. Whatever coasters, you suck none the less. OMG Cali, Cali, Cali... wait, you have no power. Sucks to be you!

Because generation II reactors require external power for the safety mechanisms, and a standard outage isn't worth using the diesel generators to run them. Generation III+ reactors use passive safety and cooling so this is obsolete, but no III or III+ have been built yet. Currently finalizing licensure then something like 8 new reactors are scheduled to begin construction in the US using the AP1000 design from Westinghouse. China already has a bunch under construction.

The power outage had nothing to do with Cali you moron. It was caused by some idiot in Arizona.

i think solar flares did it (x series solar flares 2 days prior to the outage; watch the JEsse Ventura episode on this from months prior)... just my opinion, lulz...
