Massive explosion in waco Texas

Some poor soul is still using Skitch.

Every Joe Schmoe and his mother knows fertilizer can be used for bombs.

So a fire occurring at a fertilizer plant is pretty odd, yes.

When I was younger I went all over Texas, Oklahoma, and parts of Louisiana doing turn arounds and shut downs on power houses, chemical plants, and oil refineries. There are things in everyone of those that can blow up and even more reasons why a fire could break out. For instance the Texas City BP Oil Refinery in 05 (I think it was 05).

I have no idea what caused it and I'm not pretending to, but welding, cutting torches, and a host of other things could have caused a fire that got out of control. They generally have people on "fire watch" and their entire job is to watch for fires in their area. They should have the correct type of fire extinguishers and be trained to use them. For all we know they had someone that could have put it out and instead ran off scared.

LOL @ CNN, reporting live from boston 12 hours after the texas explosion which was 100 times worse, but which was NOT ON THE EAST COAST so who gives a fuck.

No, it's because Texas was an accident in a small town while Boston was "a terrorist attack" on a huge annual event.

Murders always get more coverage than accidents this should not be surprising to you.

Or who built schools and homes around a fertilizer plant?

Location. Location. Location.

Plant has been there around 100 years, when it was built there was nothing around it. The houses that have been built around it were all done so in the past 30 years according to a guy I talked to who lives in the area.

Exactly what I figured.
