Media Manipulation, Trayvon Martin and the NDRP Executive Order

With regard to media manipulation:

Altering The Zimmerman Tape - Ta-Nehisi Coates - National - The Atlantic

NBC apologizes for doctoring the 911 tapes so as to make it seem that Zimmerman raised Trayvon Martin's skin color for no real reason. The NBC tape made the conversation sound like this:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he's up to no good. He looks black.

The actual conversation went like this:


Zimmerman: This guy looks like he's up to no good. Or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about.


Dispatcher: OK, and this guy -- is he black, white or Hispanic?


Zimmerman: He looks black.

This is a little too cute to write off as unconscious mistake. Moreover, as my old boss Erik Wemple reports, there's no real explanation in NBC's apology. Unconscious or not, altering the tape in this way was incredibly unfair to Zimmerman, and incredibly stupid for NBC . How did they not think they would be caught? The real tape is out there.

lol NBC doctored the tapes, presumably to promote the racist theme.

Remember, when it comes to media, buyer beware. If you buy their bullshit at face value, you may look like a dope later.

To those of you who cry "conspiracy theory nuts!" whenever someone highlights media manipulation for the state, consider this (from here):

The White House asked The New York Times not to publish this article, arguing that it could jeopardize continuing investigations and alert would-be terrorists that they might be under scrutiny. The Bush administration asked NYT to sit on a story about illegal wiretapping. Fear of alerting would-be terrorists? Uh-huh. Maybe. Could it have had something to do with the election? Maybe.

In any case, examples are not difficult to find. The question is, why are you having such a difficult time finding them? Knuckleheads.

It's not about skin color, it's about the $. Mention that the victim and aggressor have different skin color and you're almost guaranteed to get more people to tune in => profit. The fact that NBC doctored the 911 call should come as no surprise to anyone with half a brain, given that most people are willing to sacrifice their morals for money.
 
Shit like that happens all over the country, all of the time. This is a power struggle plain and simple. The past decade the U.S. has made such a dramatic downturn most of it will simply resemble Mexico by the next ten.

Would be interesting to know what kind of deal the network that broke the story made with the government.

Doubt it would have gotten so much attention without a quid pro quo.

Accept that news is not truth and take personal responsibility and relieve yourselves of the welfare mentality that some of you seem to understand when it comes to other matters. You are not owed the facts of the matter or the "truth" of it. If you want these things you have to go out and get it the good old fashioned way.

The only person responsible for what you and your community knows or does not know is you. Then again, people do not even know what their "rights" are as individuals.

Yet people expect, want, believe and think it is their "right" to know the facts or "truth" as a collective or community. :rolleyes:

The chart or graph if anything, proves the collective ignorance and susceptibility of the masses and that the system in place is working as expected, intended and without interruption.
