Hi, My name is Ryan Smith, and I represent Media.net.
I'd signed up and gotten approved, and was gonna start running traffic with them next weekend. Does that count?
If it does, then Current Cancer Research | Cancer Charity | Australian Cancer Research Foundation(or the cancer charity of your choice, I don't mind)
P.S. Media.Net
Might I suggest the tag: "Activism works on WickedFire"?It counts.
Just got this from them:
Hi,
I saw your post on WickedFire about the problem you had with Media.net. I want to apologize for what happened.
I'm going to work to prevent this from happening in the future. Would you mind sending me the name of the site where you had the issue so I can get to the bottom of what happened?
I'd also like to donate $500 to the charity of your choice. I'm not asking for anything in return; it's purely an apology for what happened. We can either donate directly or send you the money so you can donate.
Thanks,
Andrew
If Media.net were truly sorry they would match my 2k donation, step up your game, Andrew.
It counts.

How did they get your user account from this post? Where did they approach you?
I. Fucking. Hate. Media.Net
I'm even going to tell you why.
They first contacted me out of the blue (first warning sign) about advertising on a big site of mine (100k+ impressions/day), I figured I'd give them some impressions to try it and see how it goes.
It was performing pretty shit so I complained saying I'd scrap the test unless they could improve the CPMs, then my account manager sends me an e-mail asking for a list of my most searched keywords so that they can improve the ad targeting. I send a list of 10 KWs (as it was no big secret where my traffic was coming from - at least not the top 10-20 search phrases).
Then he tells me that because of the content of my site he has to pull the advertising all together.
WTF. You contact me and then say the content isn't in the guidelines?
Since then they have contacted me on 12 separate occasions asking to advertise on similar sites. That's right, I've already got an account there - yet they continue to send me e-mails asking me to sign up other sites of mine. One time three separate people contacted me about the same site. These are all sites which I should add break their quality guidelines.
Similar situation with me. They contacted me first about doing ads on a couple sites. Gave them a shot for a few weeks, earnings were shit so I stopped running the ads. They came back to me saying they wanted to "optimize' my ads and asked for my keywords, which I only gave them for one site. He asked to test the new ads for two weeks and see how the earnings looks. I reinstalled the ads and they were making about 1/3 of what adsense was making on the same site. After a week of dismal earning with their new "optimized' ads, I shut it down and told them I was done and I couldn't continue to lose money with their platform.
I never got a response from my manager, until a week or so later he hit me up wanting to run ads on 6 other sites of mine. I just told him that wasn't happening and I think that was the last I heard from them. My account is still open, but I haven't used their shitty service in over a year. I still get new random emails from other managers there asking to sign up with Media.net and run ads on those sites I already did. They have no fucking clue.
Pick a charity.
Hi,
We are interested in a Revenue Share deal with you. We can run very relevant ads that will get great click-throughs.
Media.net is advertising on many Comscore top 1000 sites. We get phenomenal results for our publishers. Our eCPMs typically range in the $1 - $10 depending on the site’s vertical, traffic quality, impressions count, etc.
I’d like to propose a two week controlled test on Revenue share across all your traffic for you to truly gauge our potential.
Regards,
Farozan.
I never signed up, so this is just sharing for lulz...they sent this to a finance niche site. Probably still wondering why I didn't jump at a max $10/ECPM.
