My advice -- become an expert on their religion, and challenge everything they say, since they're probably wrong about it. That's what I did -- granted if they're devout, chances are you wont be together long, but at least you'll know why everything they're saying is ridiculous.
 
unlikely to work.. people ignore the ugly side of their religion and rationalise it somehow.

And do a certain extent they're right because while it may sound like the sentence is talking in absolutes, due to the fact that the bible has been changed so much and so much of it has been lost in transalion. It's difficultt o understad the true meaning of the bible.

For example that senteice could be referring to women in a certain context, but then some misogynistic priest or a translater decided to put his own twist when he wrote it down. And ypou have to bear in mind that dueing that time very few knew how to read and write, a typographer was as rare as a fortune 500 ceo, and they had a lot of power over what got transmitted and what was left behind.

Which is crazy because it's like people run their lives based on chinese whispers.
 
I dated a devout catholic once. Church every Sunday, praying before meals type...although she had no problem with the premarital sex aspect. She would try to get me to go to church, and I would always challenge the purpose. I studied the bible, I know a good portion of all the dark parts. You won't hear too many pastors quote Deuteronomy or Leviticus. Every time church would come up I would just say I have no interest in worshiping a diety who condones rape, incest, torture, murder, and genocide. She didn't really have a problem with me saying that (especially since I could back it up with a bible), but apparently when I said it to her mother is when things went down hill.

yep im married to a mormon actually, and id hate to go against popular belief about how society view women as objects but think of your own daughter if you have one.

do you want men calling her a bitch, pissing on her during sex, make her eat ur cuuum! face it, its a fantasy that most men including I dream of doing to chics but its only because our minds are so corrupted that we selfishly want to fulfill our physical fantasys.

she made me straighten-up and I learned that I need to treat her with respect and Im proud of her and our relationship. especially since we had our daughter 5 years ago.

not preaching just sayin.

aslo, dont blame the cathloc church - blame their leaders. God is good, men are...horny!
