I have 2 girls, I can tell you if my neighbors did this, which I'd never live with such hoosiers anyways, but if I had to, it wouldn't have gone nearly this far with these pure idiots.

Those neighbors suck, but the world is filled with shitty people trying to get a rise out of others. They will continue as long as they get what they want: attention, emotion, taking offense, etc.

So stop giving them what they want.

If they touch the girl or the property, that's a different ballgame. Otherwise, letting shitty people bother you is a waste of time. It's a distraction from things that matter.

Much easier said than done. I have a daughter too, and if she were dying, on top of the fact that my wife died a year prior, and then saw a neighbor across the street post the img's on facebook with my daughter's face on crossbones, holy fuck..

With all the emotional shit that I'd be going through dealing with what's happening in my own family and then seeing that, sitting back and letting it happen seems impossible.

Yeah exactly, first thing that came to my mind...you have to walk on eggshells to confront anyone about anything nowadays. At least they realized their idiocy wasn't so funny, and did an alleged "180."

Very true. However, I do not just say it. My family knows I expect this of them, and I lead by example.

I won't go into my family history, but what this couple has done is mild. People can obviously be much worse. The solution is not to react since these types of challenges are endless. The solution is to train yourself to ignore them, and teach your family to do the same.

As you said, it is easier said than done. I do both. I teach my family to do so, as well.
