Message from Rand Paul

he's certainly the lesser of evils in washington, but still evil.

backed romney in the elections, still sincerely believes in government, has stated he does not want to end the drug war, etc..

Well he had to stand with his party otherwise he would never be able to run as a Red.

I dont have a bone to pick with the drug war, its managed horribly of coarse.

I would bet that he believes in a lot smaller govt then anyone else in Washington. Hell, I believe in govt, its just not the same govt that we have right now.

Much like he'd have to do X,Y,Z and continue the status-quo in order to hold his position..

So you're OK with fining or imprisoning those who commit non-violent actions, such as ingesting substances?

Well here's where we part ways ;) I see government as cancer. I'd like less cancer, but I'd rather prefer no cancer.

He's going to say a lot of stuff people aren't going to like, especially when people are hanging on every word. As a Senator, how he votes is what really matters, which has so far been not bad. For people who disagree with a particular vote, he has been pretty good about explaining his reasoning.

He was telling the truth when he said he didn't want to legalize drugs (which would effectively end the war on drugs). He doesn't think it should be a question the government gets to answer (implicitly ending the war on drugs). But he's not going to stand in a room of evangelicals and volunteer that point.

If he runs for President and gets nominated, his choices for running mate are going to be very narrow, and a lot of people who will vote for him anyway are not going to like who he picks. It will be someone like Condi Rice or Ted Cruz.

There is no way in hell Rand Paul is ever going to be president of this country. He will be stomped into the ground if he runs in 2016. Probably won't even get out of the primaries.

You guys need to face it. The U.S. is a center to slightly left of center political nation. Tea Parties and Libertarians are about as out-of-mainstream as it gets in this country.

Anybody who thinks Rand has a shot is STILL suffering from the same delusions that allow me to easily pocket $150k in Intrade last year betting against Romney.

Lol. It still cracks me up how dumb dumb can be.

I can see him getting nominated for VP; this way, they can run any asshole they want and still have grassroots support in the general election.

Nationally, it is too soon to tell. It is going to depend on what happens in the 2014 elections. Some of these cocksuckers in GOP-safe districts are gonna get primaried.

Don't underestimate the U.S. when it comes to putting someone in the Oval Office. Heck, look who's running the place right now. All you have to do is smile, say the right things, tell good stories, and do a few lasso tricks.

The problem is police are lazy .... a good % of those incarcerated had other, more violent, crimes they committed but the cops threw drug charges against them because they're easier to prove.

For example, Al Capone went to jail on tax evasion not mass murder.

And please don't mistake me for a statist, that's far from the truth. There's just an inherent problem with releasing a shit ton of people doing hard time. Moving forward, no question that non-violent crimes should carry no jail time.

Im not ok with a lot of the drug incarcerations, but that battle needs to wait as we have bigger problems

Elections are rigged anyway. I dont get how people still believe in the process after the shenanigans in 2004.
