Meteor Shower Tonight

Yep, I'll be taking a look this evening if the sky stays relatively clear. I'm a sucker for astronomical phenomena, and we're living in interesting times. The last 15 years have been chock full of good stuff for amateur astronomers, like three major naked-eye comets, a Venus transit, a comet impacting with Jupiter, and several unusually spectacular meteor showers. I'm hoping this one will be (nearly) as good as the Leonids in 1998.

I would love to, unfortunatley theres a tropical depression slated to be over Oahu tonight, ahh well....wind and rain instead of meteor shower, damm

For those who missed it yesterday, don't worry, because today is the best time to watch anyways. So if you didn't see shit yesterday (probably because of the moon + cloudiness) then tune in tonight b/w 12-5:00 am and you should have some more luck.

The obvious point is that if you live in the city you will probably not see much, but if you live even a little bit outside of the downtown/city area, you should have a good chance of seeing some dope shit.

In North America, the best time to watch will be between midnight to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, but late Tuesday night and also Wednesday night could prove fruitful, weather permitting.

Last night was the peak.
