Start off with the free google tools to learn the ropes, then upgrade to a paid app once you understand the data. Tools should speed up things you already know how to do, not do things that you don't know how to do.

learn to use google keyword tool and free tools such as keyword tracker. If you have more funds then go for mnf, it is a good tool
