MicroCraps new logo

TBH, I really think they made a great decision with that logo.

As a crappy 99designs idiot, I love the new logo.

It is redundant and I would have thought for a company based on innovation they would have come up with something more effective and creative than the good old windows tiles and the free font they give out with every copy of windows.

What innovation are you talking about?

Dude so many companies are using the four colored squares theme. This is as innovative as one of my morning turds (sorry pewep buddy).

It just goes to show you how behind they are in innovation.
They run the world, they are on every comp system .. they should have the most fuck you we're rich and own you logo ever.

Looks like they didn't have anything to copy from apple so they just made four colored squares durr.....

Couldnt really give a shit about their logo but i hate the fucking dry grey coloured font..... needs to be darker and more striking in my opinion.

Look at the fonts / colours Apple uses on their iPhone pages etc, very simple but bold and effective as fuck. Makes you think 'new' - 'shiny' - 'progressive' - 'simple' - 'elegant' - etc.

This just makes me think of MS Paint, which is not a good look for Microsoft.

ITT: People that know nothing about good logo design.

Good logos are simple and memorable. People will remember this.

To the companies out there with "similar logos", who cares. M$ is bigger and will take the recognition. The small companies may well have to change their logos if they don't have trademarks to avoid being associated with them.

people think more complex is better for logos, but if you look at the logos of the top companies in the world, they almost always share one thing in common; simplicity. Simplicity is important for massive companies that push a lot of different products, as it's always easier to remember something that's more simple than more complex.

I agree. But not completely. There has to be an element of some worthiness inculcated within every logo. Let's take a look.

I like it, but not liking what I'm hearing about Windows 8

Many of the people complaining about it have either not tried it or haven't yet been able to get over the "start menu" being a full screen with live tiles showing useful information.

It is already faster than Windows 7 in many benchmarks and some drivers are probably not even fully optimized yet. Social networking is integrated. Skydrive integration similar to iCloud has been added. Drive Extender from Windows Home Server was added allowing multiple different size drives to work as one. File History was added so you can easily restore a previous version of a document. For people with kids... Parental controls have been improved with time limits, site/app blocking, website history, search term history, store download history, most used apps, most visited sites, etc.

I will be switching my main desktop over to Windows 8 this weekend.

The trend with most Fortune 500 companies is towards simpler branding with flat colours, less Web 2.0 gloss, less bevels, less embossing, and less drop shadows. Minimal is all the rage.

Here, let me put it in a context all you anti MS fags can understand...

It's something Apple has been doing for years.

You should feel better now. Carry on being faggots.

They just wanted to also appeal to the non-homosexual crowd. Didn't have much luck with that one..
