Microsofts New Online Email Outlook.com



Microsoft is doing a really good job at implementing the metro design across all of it's products. I like this design a lot now. Never cared too much for the Aero designs.
 
I don't see too much difference between this and Hotmail. I do like Hotmail except for the lack of IMAP support.
 
Tried to sign up. Fuck their captcha, tried more than twenty times and could not get one correct. WTF
 
lol... I got on and it's a nice interface. Quick and responsive. Microsoft is actually coming out with some really decent products finally... Lets see if they can keep it up.

lol, speaking of that. When I was installing windows 8 / first time turn on, I had to do a captcha for a live account. Seriously MS, captcha for starting your OS? And it was the same shitty captcha that's impossible to get correct the first time.


And I don't see this gaining much popularity of gmail without IMAP and many other features that gmail has.
 
Anyone able to set their Android device to receive emails from this Outlook? Keep getting authentication error receiving, despite my UN/PW being correct.
 
Anyone know if this switch will allow you to use a different @ domain? Like can I starting using @outlook.com instead of @hotmail?
 
Before using, I'm gonna wait and see if the "outlook.com" email also could still send the "free viagra" and "free ipad" offer emails to all contacts as Hotmail did.
 
Only if they had allowed alternative identities. I can't believe they make the same mistake as Google did with the 'tarded on-behalf-of header. Ok I understand branding and all, but fuck, I am willing to pay for this! And I know MANY other people who are willing to pay for this feature. I'm paying for my email now, just not to Google/MS.
 
they don't want your subscription email moniez, they want your inclusion into their social network hub, your identity.
