No solution will guarantee zero casualties. There is always a risk of death.* The question is, does TSA represent the best possible solution to this problem? Would other solutions be more effective, cost less, or both?
Evidence suggests TSA is incompetent. It is bloated. It does not improve the public's safety (though, oddly, people assume it does). And it poses an enormous cost.
What is the proven benefit of this agency?
If I scratch my ass, and a dog barks, it does not mean my ass-scratching prompted the dog to bark. If TSA feels my daughter up, and a plane does not careen into a skyscraper, it does not mean the molestation prevented deaths.
I believe Murphy's solution offers a much better approach than TSA.
* Especially given the state's past and current imperialistic tendencies.
