Mobile Friendly Motherfucker

Go install WP-Touch on any WP site you have that might have a non-responsive theme. For you other CMS or static html site users, better get your m.site game on.

I'm not sure how this is a thing. Every little spam wordpress site I've seen or whipped up in the past several years has been responsive.

Rather, Gorgle is creating this whole wave to plant some ideas into public opinion - and remain a newsmaker too.

My thoughts exactly. This whole mobile thing is so 2012. You have to look real hard to find a non-responsive WP theme nowadays. This likely won't hurt spammers and blackhatters that much.

The mobile friendly update was needed to ensure the success of Project Fi!</stupidventures>

@vgeek.... in the link you posted.... they said, google's mobile update was pitched against fb. This makes sense in a way, since fb is their main competitor in mobile. But the nature of search is pretty different in mobile. Both fb and google have their own leverages and mobile-friendly sites IS NOT one of them.

The problem is many authority sites (university and government sites) are not mobile friendly, whereas the spammy ones have been mobile-friendly since 2012.

Plus, Porject Fi (WiFi first) is more pitched against mobile carriers. The idea that all different wifi hotspot would work as a single wireless network is pretty impressive in itself. More like free wifi everywhere :P

This seems to be a article on project Fi -

Why Google

Who needs mobile government or university sites? These guys are sitting in in an office with furniture from the 70s. so having a website from 2003 is kinda progressive. As long as you can watch porn on mobile and order stuff from Amazon, all is fine :)

@scum bag

It stared about a 2 years ago, mobile traffic went up from like 30% to now almot 90% of the traffic.
I had like a conversion rate of maybe 20% on desktops and like i think 4% on mobile if I remember correctly.

Then without google telling me, I got on it, i'm still on it, i tweak the mobile site every month or so, changing a button there.
Converting well, and hope to improve it further with tests and go.
Nowadays, I could care less about desktop traffic.

who the fuck cares about that google wants it, 0.2% conversion, it's you who should want to optimize.
You'll do your "customers" a favor and your wallet.

i wonder how many of you guys are in ecommerce? like really selling goods i mean with that

Got an ecomm site, no mobile / responsive theme. SERPs and traffic way up after this update. Go figure, just hope its not the pump before the dump.
