What to do with German traffic?

Obviously, this depends on the type of traffic you have.
Here are some options:
  • Choose an affiliate network that has German offers.
  • We have some programs here which are quite profitable and have their own inhouse affiliate program. If you tell me your niche, maybe I can pick one of those for you to try out.
  • Easy road for shitty traffic: we have these programs out here who will pay about 5.5 $ to annoy 1000 of your unique visitors with a so called "layer-ad". Use this type of ad together w/ adsense and you will be banned.
  • Currently, there is a huge fraud going on where users are lured into filling out a form of which they do not know is actually an orderform for some worseless content-subscription. Many webmasters are using it, as it is highly-profitable, but I won't endorse it.
Affiliate Networks:
zanox - Multichannel-Commerce
TradeDoubler - The European Affiliate Network
Partnerprogramme bei affilinet
belboon - Umsätze generieren mit Partnerprogrammen (immediate payout at about $6.800)

Layer-ad Programs:
Sponsorads.de
Layer-ads.de

There is a huge hype for Poker at the moment, but I haven't done anything in that niche. Oh yeah, fucking ebooks don't work here. At all.

Blackhat: If you've got a whole bunch of German traffic, regardless of your niche, you may want to play around with spreading some cookies for DSL providers. Currently, these offers work perfectly for this type of "marketing".

How can I promote in German markets? PPC? I use YSM here in the states, for u.s. traffic. If I want to promote in German markets do I have to create a seperate YSM account for Germany?

Yahoo and especially MSN have a much smaller share in Germany compared to the US. Plus, YPN has not launched here, yet.
That is why I focus entirely on Adwords in order to get a decent volume.

hermann,
I have a casino portal that I am targeting to european gamblers - do you know of good german (that is, serious) casino networks /programs that pay out decent and don't rip off affiliates?

I assume the german Adwords also have tight restrictions on gambling related keywords and such, right? I am thinking of going the Blackhat route there but suggestions are welcome.
