1) Common in cultures all around the world.

2) Nothing compared to circumcision. Only a little more extreme than piercing your baby's ears.

None of our business, though I can't imagine being the dude DOING the tattooing.

+1. Before really opening up my mind I thought to myself if I had a boy I'd have him circumcised. Then when I realized it's another persons body, and a practice largely perpetuated through religion and excuses such as "I want him to look like his father", or "I want him to avoid infection" (which is bs), I thought again.

Dude are you saying it hurts more to get a tattoo than to get circumcised?

That was my response, too. I think it's sickening, but nowhere near as bad as cutting part of your child's genitals off.

+1 Circumcision is barbaric. Plain and simple.

Work on your reading comprehension :)

I let my 2 year old get her ears pierced. She wanted ear rings like her mom, we warned it would hurt really bad. Of course she didn't understand the permanence of it, but I did and given the cultural reality it wasn't something I was against. She sat their brave as could be and only winced a little.

She'll be 4 in a couple months and LOVES her earrings.

My point? Cultural barbarity is bullshit to judge on shit like this.
