Moving to Warm Weather Climate for Winter

I just got off the lake for the weekend, it was about 68-72 for the past couple days, Im in AZ.

Ya their are some shitty parts of PHX, just like any other city. Dont like it, get a place in Scottsdale.

scottsdale=the titties.

110 in the shade isn't mild. But places like twin falls in the greenbelt make it tolerable.

Yes, Yes...but it's not 110 in the fall or winter. And it's 110 in the summer just about everywhere else that was named, too. For a spot to Winter, I think Austin would be perfect.

Totally unrelated, but I was in San Diego in June and I was freezing, but it must be that I'm more accustomed to a real summer. :)

If I didn't have young kids I'd move to mexico or the caribbean in a heartbeat.

I grew up in Hawaii, but wouldn't want to live there now. Plus the beaches and water in mexico or the caribbean are nicer anyway.

If you like being hot more than you like being cold, Austin or outside Dallas are not bad. I live outside of Dallas now. It was 80 degrees yesterday. Summers get a little hot but unless your body can't take the heat, you get used to it real quick. I play tennis almost every day, even when it's 100 degrees in July. No problemo ...

I'll take that over 4-5 month shitty winters of freezing ass cold weather, snow and ice on the ground every day, etc.

So Cal probably has the best overall weather in the entire US, but I live like a king here in the DFW area and a shitty 4000 sq ft house in a nice area in San Diego is a couple mil. No thanks.

Cayman Islands.
Stay for 6 months per year. Get all your comms tax free.
Only 1 hour from Miami.

Hate to break it to you, but US citizens are taxed on their world wide income, no matter where they live. You could denounce your citizenship, but would be liable to pay income tax for 10 years after denouncing it.

Oregon ftw....
oh wait, sorry, places that are warm during winter... I like the San Jose (los Gatos) and Phoenix is fun and nice in winter. thats when everyone goes outside and swims and tan.

@Gopher: my bad, i thought it was a residency thing, like here in Australia.
@dsiomtw: yeah, there is that. but, there are a few online guys on Grand word has it, and no tax is a pretty massive incentive. although, looks to be void by the former.

we are giving it some serious thought, because it is based on residency in Australian tax law, and if you are of independent financial means and buy a house the Carribean tax havens love you, and will give you residency after about 6 months (Caymans).

but, like dsiomtw we have little tackers, and not feeling very confident on the education options, literacy rates are fucked.

yeah, i had the same idea. moving to australia at the start of febuary for the oz summer, over to perth to a few friends. then back again for the irish 'summer', if you can call it that

If you want to chill like you have never chilled before, go to Captiva Island, FL.. It is my favorite place to go when I need ultimate relaxation. Buy a condo at South Seas Resort..they have a golf course, amazing beaches, and great fishing(if that's your thing)

Get a decent car with a good awd system (and no, nothing built in America qualifies here) and just fucking drive through snow. People who think that just because white shit is falling out of the sky means they need to do 20 in the left lane on the interstate make we want to tear their tongues out and fuck them in the ass with a rusty tail pipe.

It's 2009 and you're an "AM baller". No need to stick to the fucking Daewoo.

Move to Ahwatukee, Arizona it's a suburb of Phoenix where the rich people live better known as (All white Tukee) it's better than Scottsdale (Snobsdale).

My vote is for Honolulu man. Definitely not humid like florida is, low sales tax, hot chicks, and in my opinion it's one of the greatest places in the world to live. The only drawbacks I've noticed is that the median price of a house here is $600k and I have people visiting every other week, literally. Seriously someone you know will always be visiting Waikiki and it can kill your productivity and get pretty expensive considering all the partying that you will end up doing.
