Mozilla announces list of slowest performing Firefox addons

I hate Firefox with a passion. It takes like ten seconds to start, it buggs me for plugin updates every three minutes, and force-updates itself every other day. What started as a cool browser, turned into a sluggish crapware pretty quickly.

I have been using K-Meleon for the past 300 years and love it. Not for everyone, but if you want to be productive, then there isn't anything better out there (yet)

I have video download helper, does just having it installed make it slower or only if its in use?

Who restarts FF all the time? I have no idea how long it takes because mine runs great. I don't get plugin alerts unless I restart.

I guess the 300 years is as hyperbolic as the rest of your post.

My FF4 was using 1.8 gb of memory when I woke up the other day after leaving it open overnight with 10-15 tabs. It was the highest that I have ever seen it.
I don't think I've ever seen mine up over 900mb or so, and I use 15-20 tabs routinely. I try not to leave any Flash pages up for long just to be on the safe side, though. Sounds like you had some Flash or Silverlight going on there.

Lastpass which has been mentioned a couple of times already ITT. It works on FF, Chrome, IE, Android, and Iphone. What more reason to use it does one need?
Got Lastpass here not too long ago. Takes a little getting used to, but it's nice.
