Tbh, Spartan Races kinda changed my life. Back when I first stepped foot on my first run, I weighed 225lbs of pure fat. I mean at 6ft, I had a 45 inch stomach.
I hated running, but the obstacle races looked fun and challenged me to step up my overall fitness. Fast forward to the past 3 months, I have finished 2 5K's at 1st and 3rd in my age group, and 10th overall in a Spartan like race.
I now weigh 160lbs, and my stomach is 33 inches. I have ran several Spartans, including the Super in Miami (8 miles), just finalized all travel to an upcoming Beast (12 miles) this month and will get my Spartan Trifecta metal at a Sprint (4 miles) in Nov.
These obstacle races stopped me from topping 300 pounds. Now, I am a competitive runner.
