My EPN account is closed! WTF???

So I was on EPN checking my stats and noticed there was a menu button saying something about "Business...(something)" so I clicked it to see what it was. Suddenly I get a Firefox message asking if I wanted to save the password on this page. I was like what password? (I was already in my account) so I clicked no not ever or not now. The next screen I get this message:


You have successfully closed your eBay Partner Network account. Please note that closing your account is permanent and you can not re-activate this account under any circumstances. All information related to this account will no longer be accessible. Any outstanding balance and earnings will be paid out via the method specified in the Payment Information tab during the next payment cycle and is subject to the minimum payout threshold. If no payment method has been entered or your payment method is incorrect, your earnings and outstanding balance will be forfeited. Any traffic driven to a program that is associated with this account will not be eligible for future commissions. eBay Partner Network reserves the right to retain information necessary for payment and tax purposes for a reasonable time.

hmm you can close your account through the "Business Information" part in the "Accounts" tab. You have to click a checkbox "I accept", and click a button to do it though. Shitty that happened, you'll probably just have to make a new account and redo all of your links :S

Holy shit Turbo, that sucks. Chances are rudedog is right, but I'd raise a stink and possibly inform them of a bug. Although...yeah, good luck with that.

So basically firefox did something to fuck it up I guess. Cause when I clicked on that Business Information page, I never got to see the page itself just that firefox pop up asking me if I wanted to save the password (again, what password??) and when I said no, and then I got that message. I still don't know what about that process would have closed my account. Jesus.

I'm so pissed right now. My ears are literally burning.
 
the good part: you can just find and replace your old EPN publisher # or w/e, so it won't be a huge pain in the ass. Dreamweaver makes this easy, you can open up all your sites and do it at once. (Assuming you run static sites )

I looked at the code and closing the account is handled with javascript, not sure if that will help you find out why it happened. Maybe one of your firefox plugins freaked out. I run noscript enabled on EPN, with FF3 and can view that page without issues. Really odd that happened

Well thanks, but most of my sites were phpbay so they all had individual campaign numbers. Even if there was a way to do it with just one epn publisher #, I wouldn't be able to find it as I've been locked out of the account. :/

Do what rudedog said quick times. Just do a new account find/replace in dreamweaver and you'll be back in no tiime. If you're using BANS shouldn't take you too long either.

Edit: nevermind you're not using bans. Make a new account your old one is obviously useless, at least temporarily.

Give them a call ... if you want drop me a PM about shifting numbers over to my account until you get it resolved, we can set the campaign #'s so I can write you a check - at least you wont lose too much if this happens..
 
Ouch, that sucks. I just spent the past few hours making a bunch of EPN aff sites, and know how long it takes to get them all set up.

Shoot them an email and ask what happened, or even better, get their phone number.
 
That's a serious decision to have to make on a Javascript popup - if thats how it went down. Should have been done on a linked confirmation page in an email from EPN. That's bullshit.
 
^Bofu did and I don't mind either, but assuming she has a lot of sites what's the point of her switching all her shit 2 times?
 
Try clicking "live help" on the upper right of the ebay.com home page and pretend like it's a security issue and you're concerned that your account was closed, or whatever it takes to get someone on the other end. They may be helpful and/or stupid enough to give you a phone number, or at least point you in the right direction.
