My First Arbitrage Attempt

good start, but I do have to say that you should shoot for higher CTR. Try new templates/ad placements.

Yeah, sure I should be shooting for a higher CTR...aren't we all???

I'm using a template with one large square adblock on the left with my small generic article on the right, sometimes with pics next to the ad and sometimes without. Personally I've not seen a real increase in CTR with pics. Besides, I'm really certain this template is on as some days with other niches (and this one) I'm over 40%.

My actual next step with this niche is to replicate on a few other domains and place my bids so I'm 1, 2, 3 4 and 5 for placement in 7Search. I'll do some more testing with a different template and ad placement for each site and see how it goes from there.

jon recommended 3 ad units, and one link unit in between 2 paragraphs. for arbi.

Why not post a link to your most recent site so we can get a better idea of what you mean?

i wouldn't use more than one ad block - remember that the ads pay you less the further down the list they are... so if you have 3 blocks and someone clicks on the last ad you will probably get paid a fraction of what you would have made if they clicked on the top one.

That isn't true.

Sorry, but if you read the mighty arbi thread by Chrislingle and look at his template you will kinda see what I mean.

Oh, and yeah, I've always been told that the first ad unit displayed pays the highest ads, and with arbi that is what you want. Therefore less ads is better.

albert, wtf? if something is not true just saying it is not true is not fair to the people that are new or don't know or don't undersand or think you are full of shit! if you make a statement like that you should say why or say nothing at all because your statement contributes nothing positive it only causes confusion. So, either say why it is not true and were you got the info if possible or put your boyfriends dick back in your mouth!

agreed.

1. It would make sense for google to show the higher bidder first.
2. From my tests less ads pay more per click, but might get a lower ctr.
