I'm pretty sure, living in Wisconsin, I've never heard of wildfires taking out houses. Not saying it hasn't ever happened, just not that I'm aware.

On a serious note, I saw an infographic a while back showing the geographic breakdown of major natural disasters (anything from earthquakes, fires, floods, tsunamis, etc.) and the only area of the world that seemed relatively "quiet" was Canada...lol

Fire is out, or whatever - hot embers and such are being sprayed. Solid response from the fire department, and there was a quick, but heavy bit of rain too.
Most of the land between houses is brush, sage, shit like that (Idaho). Fire is the only thing to worry about here, and if you get to it quickly it can be put down fairly quickly since there are few natural trees.

I wonder if congressman on my street improved the fire department's response? At any rate I'm really pleased with my donations, lol, upping the shit out of them come donation time this year! Might even make those fuckers a cake.
