My quest to reach 30k a year in IM - From the ground up

Nobody makes money on ClickBank, not even God. Get signed up at a proper grownup network like hydra or copeac asap

More importantly, to the mods, how about a subforum in the newbie section for journal threads. Some of them like Lemon's get to be really popular. How about grouping them altogether, the people that start them and post there get a sense of newbie camaraderie and anybody that finds them annoying can avoid them altogether.
Excellent idea.

Ok, so I've been getting a lot of feed back on the networks I had originally picked. Since there has been so much negativity towards ClickBank and the like, I've started researching other options for affiliate marketing. This was kind of a set back, but I should be on track here shortly. I'll post back which route I've decided to go as soon as I figure it out.

All the best and go for it. If you can feel you can push CB effectively and get sales then don't look back.

My goal is to do 10,000+ per month- which I can effectively do by earning 400$ per day. I do not see any reason why you cannot do the same. In your original post, you mentioned that you want to do 30K per year? I think this is still a bit low for you, and I really hope you can do higher.

I am also wondering how else you are planning to market?

I also disagree that there are tons of "bad" books on clickbank, it's a matter of finding the right ones. There are ways to check the quality of the books you are going to promote. You can easily ask the merchant for a sample to read from their product, and ask them even why you should promote them (ask for stats etc...).

You could also make your own product and market it. Could this ever be an option for you? If you do this, then at least you get 100% of the sales money, because it's your own product, and you can market it on clickbank.

You can get books made by hiring a writer, or you can write it yourself, and sell it in much the same way you just described. This could be an option for you in the future as well.

Regards,
and best of luck to reaching your goal and beyond...

DAY 1: Andrea's Journal

Ok, so here's the skinny. So far, I've gotten a couple products down. Last night I signed up for a CPA network and found some interesting stuff. I went ahead and chose an offer that am now trying to market on Facebook. I found out that you can get a 100 USD credit for Facebook Advertising just by joining the visa business network so I went ahead and did this.

Facebook takes FOREVER to approve ads. I can't believe how long you have to wait before they accept them. After my ad got accepted it suggested I start it off at about 70 cents per click! I dropped that down to about 10 cents per click and let it run to see if there would at least be any impressions. It's been running for a few hours still holding at 0 impressions.

I just switched it to CPM which got it thrown back in the Facebook "review" pile (sigh). We'll see what happens when it gets approved again. I'm hoping I'll start to see some impressions @ 10 cents. I can see the 100 bucks being burned through pretty fast on there if you don't throttle it. For every email submit I get a buck :).

Anyways, this was the first CPA I've ever tried. I'll be moving into one or two more products as well. I'm pretty focused on tooth whitening and tattoos! I'll post back this evening with more definitive information and hopefully a new domain name or two :).

Not sure how far 100 will take you paying for traffic. Actually yeah I do it will leave you frustrated.

Personally I would recommend blogging using wordpress. You can get a site indexed quickly and later on you can automate this as your experience grows. At this point your expense is time and you have an asset at the end of it rather than a $100 hole and no sales.

With the money from this slower method you can go into paying for traffic with no real fear of losing money.

Forgot about getting clicks for .10 unless you're pushing a .50%+ CTR on your ads. Start of with about 75% of the suggestion bid. Make sure you submit a dozen different ads at the very least so you could see which one will have a higher CTR. If the ad is generating .10%+ ctr, then you should see the suggestion bid dropping by at the very least half that what it started. I've had suggestion bids go from 0.60 to 0.25 within 1 hour of a decent ctr ad running.

******UPDATE*******

I just pulled in a whopping two dollars from the Facebook advertising! I created a couple different ads to see which one would convert better. Surprisingly, the first ad I created has done the best. This is the CPM ad. On my CPC ad I've got over 12,000 impressions and 0 clicks. I just copied the CPM ad and made one for CPC. We'll see what happens.

8 clicks two conversions
------------------------

I hope to get even more :)

I'm still researching the two markets I posted before. I don't think I'll be getting the domain(s) just yet. I want to be definitive on what I would like to market before I jump into it. After I make my selection, I'll be pursuing the organic searches.

So far I've burned through $9.33 on Facebook advertising.

Facebook assets: $90.67

Thanks for the tips. I've notices the CPM ads are burning through the money really fast. I just paused the CPM and am waiting for another CPC ad to come online.

I wasn't aware of this. Having recently (re)set similar goals as well. This helps. Thanks.

DAY 2:

Ok, so I'm still stuck on the Facebook ads! I've joined a network called White Fire Media. Josh (Crack) and Jeff from White Fire Media have been helping me tons! Josh is my AM and has been getting me situated/helping me with my FB ads. BTW, I want to thank Jeff for all the wonderful tips on where to grab on some good offers for advertising. This has helped a lot!

So far I'm still holding strong on the two dollars. So far, I've blow through 27 dollars of the 100. I've got a couple other email submits going on at the same time so we'll see! I'm going to take this late through the night and hope to at least do 50 dollars. I want to establish this campaign before I move on to make a LP for the product I decide to market.

I'll be back on here editing this with another update before the nights over. I just want two thank Jeff & Josh again over at White Fire Media for ALL of the help they have given me. I hope to come back with some great news tonight!

Here's some FB ad stats I'm at

Ad1 - type:CPM Status:paused
IMP - 62,000
Clicks:14
CTR: 0.02
---------------
Type:CPM
Ad2 : Status - Running
CPM:5,821
Clicks:4
CTR: 0.07

Hopefully this gets better into the night. Since it's Friday, I imagine it should do pretty good.

Apparently I did not thank Josh up there. Josh has taken the time to assist me with my FB ads. I can't believe the effort he's put into making sure I'm off the ground and on track. Thank you!
