81 points, now thats ridiculous and dwarfs MJs 69

That 81 points came against the 2nd worst defense in the league that year...

MJ's 69, as well as his other best games consistently came against the top tier teams in the league.

Kobe shot 60% in that game, something MJ has done many many times in his career.

Please, compare their stats extensively, and keep in mind that today's game is much less physical in defense and more fast paced. MJ completely dominates Kobe in nearly every stat. Allow me to point out this big one:

# of regular seasons shooting over 47% -
MJ - 10 (6 of which over 50%)
Kobe - 0

Kobe's a great player, definitely the best in the league right now. GOAT?

Not even close.

Just looking at people who wore the Laker uniform, I don't know if I'd yet put Kobe ahead of Baylor, West, Chamberlain, Kareem, Magic or Shaq.

As for Kobe's minute totals, he came right from high school while Jordan and Bird provided classic college ball moments. Bird was actually listed 6'9" and mostly played small forward.

They were prepared for Allen tonight. Pierce fought as usual, got some great looks, but came up short. Garnett must have heard the criticism because he came like a bat out of hell.

Once again, I thought the officiating was horrific. I don't know if the NBA wants L.A. to win or what they're doing, but there's absolutely no way I thought they called a fair game. The bench was huge for us, but unfortunately it was also the Celts' fault - they got lazy again and paid the price. This was the first game where I thought they could actually lose the series. My 7-game prediction remains, but now even I'm starting to doubt it.

I always thought Big Baby was totally nuts, this just clinched it for me. At least that lunatic is playing for us and not the Lakers.
