To follow along with all other people making their journals, decided it'd be easier to make a "journal" thread instead of posting 100 new threads each time I need help (lemons gave me the idea :D)

So here is my first attempt at a landing page:

Offer page: Sleep Once Again 100% Natural Sleep Aid
LP : version 1
Proxy (for the non-US): version 1 (the top bar is messed up so just ignore it)

It feels incomplete...

Pros:
Tracking each link separately to see which ones get the most clicks.
US geotargeting
Title (updates depending upon what time it is)

Going to make a Adwords account soon. Do you guy's know if I can make multiple accounts? I have 2 adwords vouchers for $25 each that only work for new accounts.

Be frank.

Alright, set up adwords account and loaded in my $25 voucher.. i should have $40 on the account to spend wisely.

Still havent gotten any much needed feedback on my Landing Page

Trying to find some keywords to use (thinking long tail since they are cheapest?)

i think your landing page looks pretty decent, considering it's your first attempt. although, if i were to point out one flaw, it looks a bit primitive, if you get what i mean. it's simple in a way, but it also looks... kinda primitive/cheap? I dunno if I'm articulating what I'm trying to say, but yeah.

you should take my opinion with a grain of salt, though, as I'm a huge noob as well.

Instead of having each link on your page as a subid, why not just install Clickheat? You can see where your users are clicking and make something a link if needed. Just an idea.

Yeah i get what you are saying.

I don't know if I want to get a full blown professional feel since I'm going for the "i'm a guy who was in the same situation like you" feel to the copy.

Professional design would be more of a "i'm an expert, listen to me" (which will be another LP i will test out)

Nice Landing Page. Also urinals are a way to go

What are urinals?

Never heard of them but I'll check it out.

Thanks for all the responses - keep the motivation coming!

===============Update===========
I ran the Campaign Sniper report and got a nice big list (categorized) of great targetted keywords I can use. I want to thank Josh (erect) for letting all the NE3 people use the service free.

Today, I'll pick some keywords to use.

Questions:

  1. How many keywords should I test out from the get go? I plan on using $0.05 CPC keywords with a $40 (total) budget.
  2. Should I start using Yahoo Publisher and Adcenter as well (I have vouchers)?
  3. Is it possible to have campaigns only run during certain times (night time for example)?
Thanks all.

Alright so I set a bid limit of $0.10 per keyword last night yet got no impressions. Don't quite understand why - I chose penny keywords from the campaign sniper report and adwords says they were eligible (except 2 which arent in top 15)

Cant anyone explain that to me (see attachment for image)?

penny keywords are cheap because they get little traffic. If you are going to go the penny keyword route, you are going to have to be patient to see any kind of traffic.

Yup, now I see what you mean. I get only about 70 impressions a night.
I'll find more keywords to add.

What kind a CTR to LP should I be looking for before changing the ad?

Made a second LP after reading about how to improve CTR - You Are Already Planning For Another Sleepless Night (review please)

Still not getting any clicks to LP. 242 impressions in 4 nights (now getting about 90 impressions per night).

Which tells me I need to do 2 things
1) Increase the number of keywords (I currently have 80 penny keywords of which only 7 had 10+ impressions) or find higher volume keywords (which are going to cost more)

2) Change up my ads. I added 1 other ad but I can't tell how effective it is since I don't have any clicks yet.

in your graphic text YOUR should be YOU'RE

In the "Get Your FREE Trial" graphic? Your is the right word. I don't have any other graphic text.

Increased impression count to about 200... still needs to be higher. Going to start finding high volume keywords and increase in CPC.

Had 350 impressions and 0 clicks.... ad problem?

I would think about the colors.

Pink and green do not spell "sleep" to me.

Try a night blue background, with orange/warm highlights, maybe.

Awesome man.. thanks.

I've been meaning to change the design - current design not very SEO friendly and not getting all the traffic it should be getting.

So I basically made a template from scratch (still working on it) but should I do direct linking to offer or to one of my landing pages?

I'm fairly confident to link to offer - just want to make sure.
