Need a partner for finance website

If I was starting out, I would honestly have taken this opportunity. When you run a business, it sometimes doesn't make sense to take a 50/50 cut people. There are alot of other factors to consider: Experience, workload, is there a process or system in place. If you are not both starting from scratch, then a scenario like this would make sense. Someone asking for 50/50 off the top without knowing the workload or requirements is definitely showing immaturity.

Imagine if Donald Trump or Bill Gates gave you the exact scenario but only 10% went to you, most of you would jump at the opportunity, since you know it will lead to bigger things, and there is a reputable name being it.
Makes sense.
I don't expect anyone to agree to working with me until I have provided all the details and it is equitable for both parties.
You know what, for anyone who agrees with you - they're welcome to be my bitch, in exchange for a more concrete offer - $500 a month guaranteed + an hour of mentoring a week. Open to anyone from the US/Europe.
Not a bad deal depending on the hour cap

Don't understand why the OP is getting stick for this. Sounds open and honest - it's just a business proposal. It's an opportunity - which many might appreciate, if you're not interested then ignore it. Or perhaps I am missing something??
99% of threads like this one are garbage.

Without knowing the details, these guys with experience recognize it as a loser deal when evaluating it against their time. I'm content with the inquiries so far, going to take a couple days to talk to everyone.

I'm already OPs bitch on a number of projects, and again, I personally vouche for him.
Thanks pal :liebe028:

Just wanted to update you guys that I was able to find a great partner from this thread and significant progress has been made.

Only generating pennys a day but that should increase in the next couple months.

I'll be your bitch for $500 a month.

The mentoring is what I'm truly after. I need it.

I'll realize this was a sarcastic post but, I'm dead serious for anyone that needs a bitch and has valuable knowledge to impart. I'm not too proud to accept my peasantry in order to climb out of it.

When I say partner, I mean you will do all of the work. I will help with small things here and there, tell you what to do, and bank-roll where necessary.

Dude, if your so balling and somebody should be willing to just "Do" all the work for you, fucking hire someone.

Stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. Paying someone to do work for you vs. the person having a financial interest in the business.. thinkaboutit...

It's a joint venture. In many cases, one person possesses the know-how, the formula and a financial edge (or other means) while the other is the laborer.

It's very common and anyone who has a problem with it is just showing how little they know about doing business with others.

This.

Not sure why everyone is hating. One party provides capital, experience, and systems.. the other party must offer something if they possess none of the above... What could they possibly offer besides labor?

I'm already laboring all day on shit that quite possibly may provide me with less income than what is represented by OP, but instead, will pay dividends in learning experiences... Which is fine, and part of the game.. but I'd much rather put those labor hours toward something that has a fucking proven track record of success, and be able to learn that system in the process.

tl;dr: Some short sighted gay webmasters up in hurr

Throwing rocks and mocking stuff is a lot easier than taking a risk that something might actually be a worthwhile opportunity. The advantage of being negative and cynical, is that when things don't work out, you get to be right. And if things do work out for the people you were trash-talking, you can say they were just lucky.

I'd rather pay somebody than fork over 25% net, have to train/teach you, and put up with your questions.

Do you not have to train and teach an employee what their responsibilities are?

An employee requires management. You'd probably have to reach out to them as much as 2-3 times a week. You would also have to do much of the tasking. That's retarded if this is just a side project.

Instead, reach out and find a qualified person to take on that hat altogether. Have a few sit downs, discuss responsibilities, and meet only once every 1-2 weeks to discuss milestones.

An employee is bound by their hourly wages regardless of performance whereas a partial owner has a lot more incentive. Getting excited about something you own is very real, and I've seen first hand the way productivity is impacted between an employee and an owner.

Try hiring someone from oDesk for all of your tasks and tell me how much time you have to put in just to manage him or her.

TL;DR: You've never owned a business with a partner, and a business with employees.

i took an opportunity similar to this when i was first getting started.

it was well worth it to work with someone who had experience, success, a solid gameplan, and lots of knowledge to impart.

not sure what all the hate is about.

Not interested in the debate of hiring vs. JV. Just wanted to update the status of this project I proposed a couple months ago. So far, it's going well and the Partner I selected has done a great job. I will update again after more progress.
