Have some tendonitis issues n the hand and wrist area so I'm looking for a different mouse.

Something where my hand doesn't have to "claw" like:

Anyone use a mouse like these?

I'm using the Microsoft Trackball Optical mouse at the moment. It's quite old (wired), but I'm sure there's some newer versions out there. You use your thumb to move the mouse pointer around. I don't have tendinitis issues any more, but I used switch to this one every now and again. That and switch mousing hands.

This [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Conquering-Carpal-Syndrome-Repetitive-Injuries/dp/1572240393/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1303832307&sr=1-1-catcorr"]stretching book[/ame] helped me a lot when i had tendon issues.

The thing that more or less cured it was deep massage (soft tissue release), so it might be worth looking into that.

I like the Logitech trackball mice - I had early symptoms of carpal tunnel and this (and other changes) helped.
Yep, this. I had a wired one for years which finally stopped working well, and I bought a Microsoft mouse keyboard combo. The mouse eventually made my hand hurt, so I went looking and found this:

It's been awesome.

The problem is all of these different solutions are for different problems, carpel tunnel, tendinitis, trigger finger...whatever.

I haven't been able to find an exact name for my problem which is on the top of my hand. Basically if I pick up a bag with my right hand and put it on my right shoulder that that motion of the fisted hand with the weight pulling it down is extremely painful. It also hurts when I'm using the mouse in the claw position. Logically it seems like one of the vertical mice would help but since I don't know what my problem is, I'm not sure of the solution.

My wrist has been gradually getting more and more fucked up the past couple years being on a computer 24/7 I can't even do push ups with my palms flat on the ground anymore I have to do them on my fists

If all else fails: You could learn to use a mouse with both hands. It sounds like a hassle to most people, but it only took me a month to adjust and now I can switch hands effortlessly.

Yes! I have to do the same. Well I don't do push ups, but I do exercise on the swiss ball and part of those require the push up hand position.

So yeah you and I have the same problem.

I used the tab key and learned a lot of shortcuts so I didn't have to touch the mouse when I didn't have to. That along with fixing table height, chair, etc.. really helped.

You could try a tablet like a Wacom and use a pen like stylus to navigate as an alternative to a mouse/rollerball.

These things did it for me.

On the left of the keyboard (I'm a leftie):

It's definitely not the best mouse functionally, lags behind the click by just enough to be annoying if you're fast with your mouse. Ergonomically though I like it a lot. Used to use this one

but it's too thin for my wide ass hands. It is more accurate and has two extra mouse buttons though. Miss those.

Keyboard has an integral mouse ball + two mouse buttons so my hands don't leave the keyboard nearly as much. Tab & keyboard shortcuts ftw.

I've been using a computer mouse all day since i was about 10 years old... I'm now 24 and haven't had any wrist problems, only thing I've kept in mind is to maintain a straight wrist, nothing else really matters.
