I used the tab key and learned a lot of shortcuts so I didn't have to touch the mouse when I didn't have to. That along with fixing table height, chair, etc.. really helped.
You could try a tablet like a Wacom and use a pen like stylus to navigate as an alternative to a mouse/rollerball.
