Have tried Hostgator and iWeb already.

Have a server with iWeb now, and it's good so far.

Want to have next server with another provider. The whole not putting all eggs in one basket thing.

Suggestions? for Dedicated servers only please.

I've been using Liquid Web for almost 2 years now and I love them. Terrific support, great up time, and good price.

softlayer and liquidweb.
Can vouch for both!
We have about 10 servers within softlayer and another 20 or so with liquidweb.
Both are shit amazing. You can't really say which one is better when both are 11/10.

+1 Liquid Web
+2 for Burst.net

Using Liquid web for 3 years! Been using Burst as well with the "same specs" and still no problems after 6 months and it's very very cheap compared to liquidweb.

Only downfall of Burst is that they have like 2 interfaces.. When I log-out of my server now and log back in they are asking me to choose NUmber 1 or Number 2 with different time and date.. so it's like I have 2 interfaces opened on the server itself... But aside from that.. prices are almost cut in half compared to liquid

The good side of Liquid web which I am using them for currently is that they have a filtering system and very lenient about their clients. I'm using them to do mass email filtering and everytime they receive a complain they just forward an email to me asking to remove the person from the email list then bam nothing more.. Unlike with other Dedicated Server providers.. 1-3 complain and your server is gone..

Webair can help you with a dedicated server in any of our datacenter locations: New York, LA, Montreal or Amsterdam. Feel free to contact me directly.

I'm + 100 to hivelocity
Have 4 servers with them and never ever had any problems.

Cannot say the same thing for other providers used over the years.
And 7 years ago I even owned a small hosting company, sold to competition :D

liquidweb and softlayer are both extremely overpriced, go secured-servers

also know of an insanely cheap provider but not going to spill it here because I don't want them to sell out

I'm a programmer with system admin experience. I have a rack in France and a very large dedicated box in Germany. I was thinking of selling excess capacity and going into hosting. How does 2gb RAM, Intel Dual Core + 500gb RAID 10 connected at 100mbit/sec sound either dedicated or VPS (so we can scale you later). I'm thinking $56.70/month paid quarterly or $49.20/month paid yearly for either dedicated or VPS? You'll have my personal contact and telephone number (North American + European local numbers). Allow 24hours for set-up.

+1 for SoftLayer. We have multiple servers with them and have been using them for years without issue. I also recommend Limestone Networks. We've used them in the past and they were great.
