Need Good Movie Recommendations

If you want to be taken away to the Caribbean for a couple of hours...

After the Sunset (2004) - Pierce Brosnan & Salma Hayek (FUN & ENJOYABLE)
Into the Blue (2005) - Paul Walker & Jessica Alba (UNDERATED)

So now I'm looking for some good movies to fill my queue again and this time I'm looking for light, or funny (but not ridiculously silly), or romantic, or unusual, or dramas with happy endings or a combo of all the above.

Plot from IMDB: Stranded at a desolate Nevada motel during a nasty rainstorm, ten strangers become acquainted with each other when they realize that they're being killed off one by one.

lol Good fit.

My vote: Shakespeare in Love (1998)

I thought this was a great "feel good" movie. Truly inspiring story.

I usually watch a movie almost every night

some of the latest good movies I've seen are

How to Train Your Dragon
Zombieland
Knocked Up
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (this is subtitle, I think German)

I troll rottentomatoes a lot to try to find good films to watch.

HST movie above is a trip!

Feel good: blindside is the only thing I can think of that's recent.
Ratatouille? Juno? finding forrester?
I'll throw in Step Brothers, but more of a comedy.

Happy endings: anything with ron jeremy or peter north

Pursuit of Happyness is probably the best movie out there to get you motivated to do something.

But since you're a female, I recommend you check out one of the following (I think they fit your criteria pretty well):

- 500 Days of Summer
- Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind

Now depending on how smart you are, I honestly feel that the following movie is severely underrated:

- The Brothers Bloom. --You'll love it if you're smart, you'll hate it if you're average or below.

There's a lot more movies I could recommend, but to start off, I think those you would really enjoy.

Have you checked out any of the cult classics? Easy Rider, Night of the Living Dead, The Harder They Come with Jimmy Cliff, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Spinal Tap, etc.? Another good movie from the 60s is It's a Mad Mad Mad World. Blow is a good movie and so is Boogie Nights

best movie of 2010 so far is the winter's bone. then the girl with dragon tattoo (even though the book is 100x better). and harry brown
