need ideas

Indeed, we'll have to have regular meetups.

Firstly, I wouldn't redirect it. If you want to redirect, use a sub-domain. It's a complete waste of a domain to simply just redirect the entire thing. Why even have a domain then, if you aren't going to park anything on it? Honestly...why pay for a damn website, and the hosting and everything else....if you are simply not even going to use it to it's fullest potential? Use a damn sub-domain then for redirects. You obviously know there's traffic somewhere to be had here, with your domain, so why not make something of it? Turn it into something....and finalize it into an auto-pilot money making system which needs little tweaking in the future.

What about a meet up site? There are sites for people to meet up if they want travel buddies. Sites for people to meet up if they want intimate encounters. Sites for people to meet up if they want to mastermind (such as these forums)....what about a site for people to meet up if they want to talk about politics?

People see it in the news, and read about it in the newspapers....but why not get a forum, or a site for those people to congregate! They can get together too, and meet in real life. Heck, there may already be such a site out there...if so Hit them up with a JV, or become part of an affiliation.

Since there is all this talk about meet ups, and how everyone enjoyed it....shouldn't that tell you something? People like to meet, to discuss stuff....they LOVE IT.

Politics is about DISCUSSING stuff anyways...so promote something related to "discussing" stuff....heck! You could even get something like a "background check" going. Throw in a few political scandals....then say heck....since you don't know your own government...what if you don't know your boyfriend? Do a background check DUMMY!

Or you can throw in some ESL and immigration stuff in there, because there are TONS of other nations and people who want to head over to America....so heck, while they are reading about how great and scandalous America is, suggest some sources for them so that they can learn how to be an American!

Check political sites too...what is being advertised on them. What kinds of ads? Heck, you could even do credit ads....it's the DAMN gov'ts fault everyone's poor. LOL! You can do something related to taxes even.

How to beat taxes....how to calculate your taxes etc etc etc...promotions or affiliate work, or you can make your own product or throw together a team for that. When people see the gov't in all it's political glory, they are reminded of gov't policies. And what policies would they be? Oh taxes, and health care! I'm sure there are lots of products or promotional jargumble related to the two, which could be subconsciously ingrained into your visitor's minds that they need to buy/use.

You could even hit people up with an offer to make money online....related to political jargumble. You could set up a list and shoot them off products and things related to that. POLITICS=MONEY. Wake up and smell the dough!

Heck, you could even link the site to other political videos/jargumble about conspiracy theories. Those kinds of things have a lot of hype and get attention all on their own. Such as videos by Micheal Moore, or documentaries on other various scandals. Now while your site is linking to all of these things, and has them together as a collective....you can carefully craft in some ads here and there related to various offers, which may appeal to the readers/traffic.

These are ways to monetize that URL, but they may also take a but of work.

Check out these sites, and see how they are monetizing under the assumption of politics.... IE: Check their ads, check for opt ins, product promotions, affiliate promotions etc...

This can really give you a good idea of what CAN be done with your website. BUT, the real question is, what are you WILLING to do with this website? Look at the promotions and offers on the websites, what kinds of marketing methods are the website owners using to make their money? Chances are....these websites are using their promotions for a reason, and they obviously monetize for the website owners.

Then check and see if any of these promotions are readily available for you to get into yourself. IE, can you become an affiliate or related member who benefits from sales made, for whatever promotion it is. They are also the most popular political related websites online right now, so there's a good place to start looking for REAL tested and proven "ideas".

Some ideas:

1. Political email submit - idk if there's still any around but I remember seeing 'Who will you vote for?" type of shit last year.

2. Build your own jump page and capture their email, then monetize from mailing.

3. Do something dodgey - clone the original site, but make a content lock appear after 2 seconds which prompts for their email. e.g. "You must now register to view this site due to... enter your email below..." (CPALead type thing).

4. Use an interstitial style of ad (have a small tab up the top --> "continue to domain.com" and have an iframe of some related offer or optin below (similar to DirectCPV). Or just a full screen iframe which redirects to the actual site after x seconds.

5. Make a site with a similar color scheme then do a promotional style page "congrats you're in the draw to win x.." or "welcome x users, today we're holding a contest for..." then have a 5 second meta refresh to an email/zip submit or free sample offer.

6. Try something that works well with RON traffic - a Grants offer would do well with possibly a farticle site with the same color's of the real site.

7. The beaten to death poll style LP - 'vote for your favorite politician to win..." (and redirect tto an email submit that's pre-poppable).

Lots of shit to try and split test. Good luck!
