I've got a CJ & Azoogle account but I haven't really used them yet so I want to start a couple of sites but I haven't done any affiliate sites before so I'm not really sure on how to go about setting them up.

Do I put some content together and then put up banners, text links etc

If not what else?

I plan on using SEO and PPC to drive traffic.

is this a really dificut? wtf? you need content or a datafeed for a cj site, you need content for a banner with azoogle, I find azoogle works better with ppc than organic traffic.

Hey,

I remember being a newbie to affiliate marketing :)

If you're really a beginner, I would suggest reading one of the many affiliate marketing books out there (I suggest Rosalind Gardner's). That will really give you a solid foundation in affiliate marketing, and what it takes to make site.

As far as having a successful site, it's important to have a site on an interesting topic, and then make sure that you fill it up with good content. Content is what will make people interested in sticking around your site, and click on the banners or links you present.

Make sure you don't just load up your website with banners. It's a major turn-off for your visitors. Stick to relevant creatives.

If you need any more help, just post a reply and I'll get back to you.

If not, good luck with your site!

What about the mail list option on Azoogle? I'm assuming you need to capture your own data from interested users and then do some mail outs a regular intervals with related offers.

That's pretty much it. Create a newsletter and gather signups. Insert offers in your next mailing and repeat.

Make the affiliate programs a part of your content, not some separate entity that plays second fiddle. Remember that internet users are "banner blind".
