I have a very simple wp blog. receiving 60 visitors per day through Google, the traffic is targeted. have changed the template so that every post ends up with my affiliate links displayed. I wonder why my aff program receives only 9-10 clickthroughs. That sucks!

Any tips to increase the visibility - any good ads dispaying script etc. out there ? :music06:

Do you have a catchy start to the content?
Links above the fold?
A easy on the eye design?
Pictures above the fold? Try a banner creative.

Pssshh... links are old skool. If you want click thrus change the link to a pic of a half-naked teen holding a sign that says "click here to fuck me"

Is that 9-10 breakthroughs a day? Since for 60 visitors a day, that is pretty decent. That is close to a 10% CTR. It's better if you focus on increasing your traffic count, instead of optimization of ad placement. You don't want to get advertisements all over their screen, since they will never come back.

yeah 16% CTR is pretty fucking good, just build up your traffic because 60 visitors a day is barely anything

Perhaps you guys are right. 60 visitors aren't much. But the blog has just 13 posts. :D

It also ranks in top 10 for 1 million competitive term as well. So, I can say I am good at seo. If I increase the content to say like 100 posts.. I may be seeing 300-400 visitors per day. Isn't it?

As far as the aff links are concerned, they match the content of the posts/niche, links are above the fold except on home page. design is simple , havn't tried pictures.

Do you think I should try pictures/banners/adsense?

I wonder what to do of visitors that come and don't make me a dime. That sucks! That should have sucked even more for ppc. Do ppc people see some patterns in converting and non-converting keywords when it comes to broad niches like "weight loss product" , etc. and not individual products e.g "acai berries" ?

Organic traffic never runs on statistics. What matter is also from what type of keyword searches are you getting the clicks from? If your keywords are more for readers, or visitors that are ready to purchase something. Once you understand that, you can make an educated business decision on how to monetize the traffic.

great point!. btw I am not applying direct statistics...just some experience and guesstimate.

Okay, I'm new here, and I'm reading this thread, gathering up a little bit of information, and then the last response is "I'm not using statistics" and that seems a little odd, isn't the entire purpose of traffic building and conversation = $ the statistics?

People love to estimate results, since it makes them feel all warm inside. But you truly can't, especially when it comes to organic traffic. You are totally dependable on the search engine, and no one has yet to figure out how Google/Yahoo works, and how to really gain the wanted positions.

But, when it comes to PPC, that is when we can use statistics, since we control many more variables.

So really, the answer to your question depends on the situation.

That is some creative thinking!

I've had problems where just a button wasn't getting a proper click-through, but once i put up a picture of a hot chick nicely PS'ed along with the button I got 10x more clicks.

Crazy idea but it can help for some niches.

Search for images of a chick pointing and put it alongside your button/link.

But did it get conversions? If it says "click here to fuck me" they'll be expecting some kind of sex search or porn site and when it redirects them to weight loss pills they'll just be like wtf and close it.

And in regards to the OP, you really need to build your traffic or you're just wasting your time, if you try PPC ads with 60 visitors a day you might make a few cents at the most.

You are kidding right?

Obviously NOT "click here and fuck me" unless you are doing porn

Just put up an image of a nice blonde chick dressed for business or whatever that's pointing to the button.
