I am trying those cheapo McDonalds, KFC and DJ Hero surverys. CTR is really low. Ringtones could be better integrated with the content. Also, any CPM networks paying higher than $.75-1.00 these days? I figure it's not worth even trying, unless its in collaboration with the affiliate offers.

Clothing and stuff doesn't make as much per 1000 impressions as the above would. Not even close, unless the page is topical. If you have an article or news about Jay Z and his Roc a wear line then Karma Loop or something may work. Otherwise, stick to the offers above.
 
I had a hip-hop site with similar traffic levels as you're describing and did pretty nicely promoting MixUnit (it's on CJ). Once you push say $1k in sales, get in touch with them and ask for a higher commission rate, they added an extra 3.5% for me just for asking.
