need video camera recomendations

Earlier this week my roommates came to me with the idea of doing a reality show for youtube. They want me to mount a few cameras around the house to record their antics. This is a bit outside my realm of experience and Google hasn't been of much use. But I'm betting someone here has done something similar to this and could point me in the right direction.

Their criteria, in order of importance is:

• low price
• reasonably small
• decent mic (or ability to plug in a decent mic)
• The video quality doesn't have to be HD at this point. As long as the people in the videos are recognizable, it'll do.

I'm sure there are probably other things that should be taken into consideration that I'm ignorant of, but I don't know what I don't know.

I would probably suggest some cameras with on-board storage so you don't have to pay into expensive network cameras or recorders. Not really sure what to suggest but you'll need to have a shit load of SD cards, HD video eats up space like MAD. It would be ideal if it was a security type camera that only activates when it detects motion.

I guess if you have space on your computer you could even use WiFi cams like the Linksys camera.

Thanks guys. I'm definitely plan to have them motion activated. For now, storage will be on the computer I'll be doing the video editing on.
