How many of you guys had fun with these type trojans back in the day? I personally had a lot of fun with Sub7, hanging out in AOL chatrooms trying to get random people to download my "webcam program."

My most exciting hit was when I got some guy in an aol chatroom, checked his saved passwords and logged into his stock account with over 200k. I didn't do anything to it but it was a helluva rush for a 14 year old script kiddie. As time went on I learned programming and wrote my own and sent it to people I knew from school. Fun times. Its actually how I got into AM, I wanted to make money from displaying ads on their computers but soon found out that PPC and whitehat were much better routes.

What kind of shit did the rest of you get into with this type shit?

I won't go into all the shit I used to do on AOL. Used Sub7 for a while, fucked around with kids from school's AOL screennames, eventually got into botnets etc.

Ah, the days of logging into an AOL Host/CL/OH account :)

Sub7 was pretty awesome, memories of sitting in the same AOL chatroom as some poor sap and sending text via their screen name and watching the reactions. 'I didn't type that, this computer is acting weird today!!1' haha.

First I knew of that prog was some Turkish guy messing with my cd drive and opening a [scary, wth is this] chat prompt, thankfully he was kind enough not to erase me.

in high school i went to boarding school....so there was lots of time to drink, do drugs, have sex in school buildings on the weekends and fuck around on computers. me and my roommates used to fuck with our friends using sub7. very amateur stuff but it was fun. i totally forgot about that program until now.

I never used netbus, but watched my friend f-n with someone, opening their cd and stuff. I got banned from AOL years and years ago playing with some "scripts". the funny thing was, I got a new account, then called them up to ask a question about something unrelated, they noticed and banned my second account when i was still on the phone with tech support! Got disconnected AND hung up on by them at the same time! haha good times

I LOVED sub7 , had so much fun with trolls in AOL chats.

One time, I got this 16 year old retarded troll kid to download sub7 , and watched him go from chat to chat trolling , copy & pasting smileys or stuff that would near crash a room. I changed his clipboard to a very graphic, homoerotic message..........Seeing the responses in one chat room ,and his subsequent messages was one of the best moments of my life.

Then I popped out his CD rom , turned on his printer, and rejoiced!

I had so much fun using netbus/sub7 on my friends, they would flip out when I turned on their printer and started printing shit.
Good times.

I freaked my friend out back in highschool, so much to the point at which he nearly called the cops. He was calling me up on the phone beforehand telling me what this "Hacker" was doign.. I printed out a msg on his printer "I'm watching you" - and then initiated the chat window where it denies access to any other window except the chat window, and held a little convo with him to freak him out. THAT was great.

Then I remember another friend online, he sent out a PWS to everyone from his school via the old aol member directory and was fucking with people. Well, long story short, he pissed me off one day so I knew his HS name, got on member directory, found some cheerleader in his grade that was currently online and told her who it was... Well, the kid ended up dropping out of HS from being harassed over it :/

The fun times.. I got into VB coding and made a few of the old "progz" but nothing serious. I remember VB's API.. "AOL_Frame25". It's what got me into design/coding.
