Hey,

I had quite a brilliant, effective, and cost-efficient way to promote various offers offline so I contacted my Affiliate Manager and Neverblue and he said they don't allow any offline marketing. Does anyone know any good networks that allow it?

Thanks

You can't because offline people have the thezeases, it's dangerous and the networks don't want to know about it. Just stay online and you're save. Seriously though, what's wrong with offline marketing? I have never done it but I figure most sane networks don't have anything against it. Unless there's some factor that comes into play with offline marketing that I'm not aware of...

That's what I thought - I just didn't want to cause any problems. To be honest I never thought they'd have a problem with it. I just emailed another 8 or so networks. I'll see what they say.

Depends what kind of offline tracking you need.
Example if you were to run an ad in a mag using a unique coupon code then that can be tracked without the networks involvement, but then the trust falls to the advertiser to tell you the numbers. Maybe the network just did not understand how you were going to use their software to track? Most aff networks will accommodate but only if they can, from my experience anyway. Its vague what you want to do so maybe if you could expand a little?

Well like I said I've only been in touch with Neverblue so far. They didn't seem to care about tracking or anything - they just said that their advertisers mainly focus on offline themselves and only want the affiliates promoting online. As far as tracking I found that to be very simple. I would buy a domain related to the offer and redirect it to the advertisers landing page with a subid. Simple..

Well what I'm thinking now is just to use offline resources to promote my own site, which in turn promotes the offers. There really isn't any possible way anyone can complain about that, right? I just thought it would be most effective to drive users directly to the advertisers landing page.

I emailed C2M too - I'll sign up after they respond

That will work :0) so in a way you dont really need the networks permission rather if you are advertising an advertiser, you may want to run the offlie ad past them first re ts and cs and copy rights yada, the rest is fairly simple.

What I'm thinking is that I wouldn't really even need to use copyrighted material in the promotional creatives. 'free weight loss whatever' or 'sign up for web hosting' etc

I'm calling bullshit. If anything, they're not denying offline traffic, they're denying whatever the fuck method you're going to use to promote.

That I'm bullshit? Methods weren't even discussed really. I'm assuming the initial "no's" were because they assumed I'd be placing adds for products like I was the actual company. Hydra said that promoting my own site which promotes offers, through offline marketing is fine as long as the details are worked out with my aff. manager. I planned to do campaigns through standard mail - and I don't feel like getting into the details.

Not that you're bullshit. That the no was bullshit. Either there was a miscommunication between you and your AM, or the AM is giving you a canned answer and/or doesn't know wtf they're talking about.

I don't want details. I'm just saying there's no reason for them to say no if you're not doing anything shady, like pretending to be the actual company, as you said.

Ooh that makes sense..

CJ said OK. Hydra was annoying and won't let me reapply for another 4 months. Still waiting for another response from Neverblue. MarketLeverage initially said no but I'm also waiting on them for another response..

If you want to pass out some flyers, then go down to your local Pizza Delivery shop and get a stack. Maybe you'll get a year of free pizza or something. If you want to market online, then sign up to some affiliate networks.

I am marketing online now but wanted to extend the business. To be brief, I have an in with a massive mailing distribution company that is full of infrastructure and huge targeted lead lists. I could be pushing about 100,000 mailing a week at a very low cost.

Than do it.
