Any people look in to Soylent?
Soylent - Free Your Body

It is pretty much some drink that is said to be nutrient efficient and can completely replace food altogether.
I love the shit out of food but there is no denying that preparing meals (especially healthy ones) are expensive as fuck and take a long time.

I just ordered a month shipment.. I am pretty attracted to the prospect of paying $3/meal for something that is supposedly healthy and balanced as well as the added benefit of never having to deal with grocery shopping/cooking/cleaning up.

Your stomach and intestine are meant to digest food.

If you don't have the time to make healthy meals, you're doing it wrong. Perhaps you should consider getting a 9 to 5.

What's next, special underwear with a compartment that sucks the shit out of your ass so you don't have to "waste time" using the bathroom?

I'd recommend reading this great post that Berto did about Soylent.

We know so little about nutrition, and the idea that Soylent (whose founder had no prior experience in nutrition) has figured out exactly what our body needs and distilled it down to one formula is silly.

Wouldn't your digestion system drastically change like when you stop eating meat for years? Going back to eating meat after all those years can be a struggle for some people. Why do I feel your body would become dependent on this..

EDIT: Just realized this guy is a software engineer..

I don't mind grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning up if it means I get to eat this every day...

I feel for those that fall for this gimmick called nutrients. Eat at your own risk. Unfortunately this is the wave of the future, the fusion of man and machine.

The military has a pill for the elite squads that provides nutrients for many days on the battle field.

Eat more leafy vegetables, eat more fruits and your immune system will not abandon you when trouble comes calling in the form of diseases.

Better yet, skip the cellulose and fructose and eat meat...

And snack on homemade jerky...

What could possibly go wrong?

I'm about to find out in 4-5 months (that is when the shit ships).

Gonna have this stuff for 2 meals per day for around 40 days to see how it goes.

Kind of weary of the fact that this stuff was slapped together by some software eng startup nerds, but if someone who knows what they are doing lends themselves to the project and some clinical testing gets done I think this shit will be huge.

You can also hire a maid to do all of these things for you.

You really have a live-in maid? Did you buy one from Indonesia, or how did that work?

Do you have a cage you shove her into at night? I know they do that in Kuala Lumpur, so I'm assuming they do it in HK as well. My parents rented a town house, and that was the big attraction of the house tour for all Western guests. There was literally a jail cell in the basement, with bars for the door, and the whole bit. Apparently, you're supposed to shove your maid in there at night, then let her out in the morning when you want some breakfast.

Such a bad idea. Humans still basically know nothing about how diet really works. "Vitamins are healthy" and all, yet go google "Multivitamins decrease life expectancy" and see what pops up. I'm also saying this as a person who owns a health company and manufactures custom dietary supplements. Not a noob in the field.

Studies on this stuff takes bits and pieces but lacks a greater understanding on the big picture. Yeah you can take a pill to help with a specific condition. That works. But the idea that anyone has a grasp of the big picture is crazy, much less some desk jockey. There are so many complex things occurring in the body that we don't have a clue about. Stick with what is tried and proven.

Go read or listen to Antifragile first. I'm shit at explaining stuff, but you'll get it hopefully.

See, this is what I'm talking about.
