Can a merchant void a wire payment after it's been sent? It was my understanding that they couldn't. Some moron company sent me $46,000 instead of the $23,000 they owed me for last month. They said they'd just void it and send another for the right amount. I'm not interested in keeping what's not mine, but suggested I would just wire back the difference.

However, can you void wires once they're gone out of your account? I didn't think this was possible.

you have to approve the money coming out of your account, they just cant "void" it, they will send a request to pull it back that you need to approve, i believe
