First we had a case of ghopor asking for articles to be written and then not paying for them, but this guy kills it. He says he wants articles to be written out and 'if he likes it' he'll pay for it. He has 4 posts in the forum all in which he has asked for a review of an article. These are his posts:

No probelm Kelly, just make sure you take full advance payments and also make sure you take it as a gift payment so that the buyer can't take a refund. That happens a lot as well, where everything goes fine until they file a dispute with Paypal and then you lose your money. It should be made a rule that payments must be made in advance when availing a service cause the people offering the service have more to lose than those who are buying from them.

You've had problems with people filing a dispute with Paypal for no reason Dev!l? Name and shame man, the community should be warned.

No fucking way. He popped to me too for a free review copy with my service thread. I declined him and then he asked for samples. I sent him two and now he is playing twilight. Motherfucker!

Not yet, not on this forum. This did happen on another forum though. So i'm just warning you guys against such possibilities.
 
This thread is a bad idea. There are already two ways to warn vendors to steer clear of certain would-be customers.

First, there is the itrader system. No itrader, no track record. Red itrader, buyer beware.

Second, there is the reputation system. Red reputation, buyer beware. And yeah, "buyer" means vendors, too.

Both systems can be gamed, but the aggressive gamers are weeded out by posting in STS or contacting moderators. As for atultanna88, he has no itrader or reputation. So ignore him and get on with your business. There will be dozens of others like him. Will you post another "warning" thread for each?

Why would you feel compelled to take up limited real estate on the SBT front page with a thread that adds no value?

My thought? You're just venting under the guise of warning people. Except in this case your venting is taking real estate.

In case you're tempted to argue that you're just trying to help other writers avoid problems, I'll remind you that the itrader and reputation system can already perform that function.

If you see a "customer" with an itrader saying he does not pay, would you work for him? Probably not.

If you get scammed, neg rep, leave a bad itrader, and contact a moderator. You'll do other providers a better service than this thread can ever hope to do.
