Thanks rgordon. I bought the plugin and my site has been live a day and I already had 5 winning bids. I just finished my second site today. I have used bans and phpbay is super simple in comparison.

I'm in Firefox, so IE may play differently.

You links on the left sidebar have a div line that follows the mouse. Looks buggy.

or i was gonna advertise:

Small Balls
Looking for small balls? We got 'em!
Get yourself some smaller balls now!

But organic SEO may be better.....
I don't know I have a better idea....

Need Balls?
Tired of people saying you have no balls?
Get some now!

On a lighter note. phpBay has updated for inhouse. Great script for those of us that have no coding skills. Works for me. I use organic all the way and it works.

Nice site BTW you may want to look at amazons Omakase Links ....

used amazon before. not crazy about it b/c payouts are less, no money for signups, and the cookies is only for like a day. Ebay is 30 day cookie...

I respect that though I have found when offering multiple product choices it is better to offer one more choice than to loose that sale. I guess it is always a matter of experimentation.

I sometimes offer that other choice and find that my overall profit increases per visitor but often ill pull the extra choice.

I will say that you can not beat that signup for eBay. I wish amazon would extend their cookie and also include a first time buyers premium (signup). I would be all over it.

I purchased PHPbay a while ago and put it on the back burner while I worked on other things. What you have done with your golf balls site has got me motivated. I'm struggling with one thing that is holding me back.

You mentioned that you are using "pages" for primary navigation. It looks like you are using posts in categories for your "Golf Resources" section and one called "Home Page" as the front page of your site. Are you using a plug-in or some custom code to do this? I have tried the "Front page displays" option with no success.

I've been wondering about this very issue. Currently I use a "page" as my front page, however I now have an unwanted link under my sites navigation column. Any help on this Gordon? Thanks

I found you have to modify the template quite a bit so it doesn't look like a blog but just a regular website. I removed things such as the post author and date info as well as making comments closed.

I used posts and categories but now I think that was a mistake and pages is the way to go. Using categories means it's 2 clicks to get to the post in question which I don't think is best for SEO.

As for the home page, you can use the Sticky Post plugin, that works for me.

I did mine by leaving the page title blank. it did not show on the nav column.

Ebay Logo

b/c of copyright?

not sure, i've seen lots of other auction sites do it. i doubt ebay will even notice, if they do i'll take it down...

Very nice site. I like the Green, don't think it's to loud. I would be curious to know if it does better or worse with or without the eBay logo or if it matters at all. Some may feel they can cut out the middle man since it is powered by eBay and run their own search through eBay?? Wonder if it's worth split testing?? May want to do that if it starts converting?? But I think it looks great and hope it really converts for you. I hope you Keep us posted.

Your search box works well also. Don't forget your Privacy Policy, Contact page, etc. for SEO.

The reason i[m doing that is because the home page of my site is using a post to show all that content, not a page. So here's how i did it:

I downloaded this plugin that allows you to show a different number of posts on your homepage than other pages, and show posts only of a certain category: Different Posts Per Page

now u have to give you'r email to that user to use the plugin, so give an email u dont use, or get a new account on gmail...

Then i make that first post in a category called "home Page" and set that category to be on the home page, and set the number o posts to show on homepage to 1.

Then i created a category for the videos and articles and set those pages to show ten. All of the posts under there are only categorized under that category, now under the category "home page"

That's pretty much it!

Ideally i would not even display "home page" on the side, but i am having problems hiding that category from showing as the normal PHP function that should do it does not seem to be working....

Just curious, is the goal to setup lots of sites like this to make a decent profit? I have never used eBay's affiliate program but I'd imagine since its just a % of the listing fee that the commissions are generally pretty low. Normally I'd be turned off by a page that just displayed eBay listings when I was shopping for something, but maybe a 'regular' user wouldn't.

Either way the site looks very good.

So how is the site doing?

Traffic/income/profit? - if you don't mind, that is

::emp::

I'm glad this thread is being kept alive. I think I'm about to dive into phpbay and I'm a real retard with this stuff so I'm sure I'm going to be asking the appropriate retard questions to go along.

eBay pays out about 50% of what they make on a sale (not 50% of the sale price), but that is still pretty good, especially on higher priced items.

They also pay out $25 every time someone signs up and placed a bid after clicking your link.

Plus they have a 30 day cookie....
