OK WTF i'm getting a pretty good ctr on one ad. I'm bidding CPM .39 when suggested is .37 - .42. I duplicate the ad to ad a little bit more targeting and impressions sink to nothing. 1 million demo and i'm getting 5,000 impressions a day now with a very good ctr ad. I tried making new campaigns with the same ad copy, nothing. wtf is going on here?
Whats your 'good' ctr?
Suggested bids dont mean shit.
btw, I cloned your ad, saturated your demo, thanks for the monies, good luck bros.
Haha, just saw this screenshot someone posted:

I did more reading and found the problem. It was a male dating ad and apparently facebook instantly slaps random male dating campaigns with zero impressions. The impressions instantly went up as soon as I took "single" out of my parameters but obviously ctr fell to shit.
I dont think so.
The reason your impressions went up is because putting 'Single' is required by FB for dating ads, so that means your ad up against all the other dating ads, which is a really competitive niche, so the bids are really high. Taking 'Single' out would reduce the min bid required by at least half or two thirds for that reason. Suggested bids for dating ads are particularly off, you need to bid much higher then the suggested bid.
If you snuck a dating ad through without specifying "Single' good for you. thats actually a nice little trick.
A ctr required to significantly reduce your bid is now much higher then it was 6-9 months ago, especially for dating.
nope, i've been riding your coattails for the past six months suckado any of you come up with your own ideas or do you just wait for others to do something creative and then rip off their ideas.. I find it hilarious that every idea i've come up within my brief 6 months of ppc marketing has been ripped and raped to oblivion.. I also find it funny that you can do something like that and feel 'successful'.. If i had to rip off someone else's ideas to be successful i'd feel like a scumbag.. but thats just me.. It'd be really awesome to always have to rely on someone elses brain to get paid.. You'll def expand financially with that mindset..
nope, i've been riding your coattails for the past six months sucka
keep churning out those golden nuggets for me to rip
please and thank you
Fuckin' NARWHALS man! ShiiiiiiiiiT! Ninja Assassin FTW
Yea but the thing is they don't even really give your ad a chance. Even if it's the cream of the crop fb never gave it a chance in this competitive demo. My ctr is .25 . It WAS .31 which from what I understand is good for a big demo.
I assumed the slapping was going on from Imagesandwords's post here http://www.wickedfire.com/affiliate...ok-sugegsted-bids-impressions.html#post607029
" In an effort to preserve a good user experience, our system monitors the number of times any given user sees a specific ad. If there is another ad that is the same or similar to that ad, our system takes that similarity into account. This similarity tracking can happen at any level (is independent of campaign or account). If the user things it’s the same when s/he sees it, then the system attempts to limit the ad(s)’ frequency.
What this means in your case is that your ads are probably not different enough from other, similar ads that your audience is seeing, or not different enough from ones that they have seen and found irrelevant or unpleasant. One reason the payout on certain dating offers is so high is that it’s difficult to drive traffic to them.
I recommend differentiating yourself in your current space (different offers, different text, different images, etc.), or changing spaces (e.g. Expanding internationally). If neither of these is possible, you will have to bid more to get the impressions, and therefore CTR that you need."

Okay I need help - how are you guys tracking your FB stuff? Because I use FB Ads Manager to throw up 100s at a time, so I am tracking ads individually per sub id, but without any automated tracking it becomes difficult to decide in cases like "Higher CTR, lower CVR ad" vs "Lower CTR, higher CVR ad" to decide without spending 2 hours in Excel.
Why I am not using P202? It just does not seem very well suited to Facebook. Obviously manually recreating 100s of ads and giving each one an unique tracking link is retarded and impossible. And while I could pass the subids generated by the Ads manager as keywords, a) 202 operates based on unique subids (while in reality different FB campaigns might all have subids each from 1 to 100 etc) and b) I could not individually update CPC costs for keywords/ad subids.
Any advice?
